Daily piccies vol 366

Lakeview, OH

I don't remember who it was that said my pictures made them cold, but after this one they are not going to like me very much. This is what it was doing most of the day. I am SO ready for spring!!!!

Love that Cardinal Hack. Thanks for the info on the conjunctivitis Mrs. Ed. I never saw a Snow Bunting before.

Teddy, We're having a snow blizzard here on the East Coast so that looks mild to me. :-)

Nice pics everyone!

Congrats on the new bird Mrs Ed!

Looks like when Mr. Ed and I have a little "discussion".

Lakeview, OH

This is a fellow who was very tamed last summer, he would come up to us and take a peanut off of our shoes. If I had tried a little harder, I probably could have had him eating out of my hand. He used to jump on my hubby's shoulder and run down his arm onto the ground. When he did it the first time I don't know who was the most surprised, my hubby or the squirrel. We named him Sammy, when we put peanuts out we would call him and he would come and get them, he knew we would not hurt him.

LOL Mrs. Ed.

Neat story about the squirrel Teddy.

LOL MrsEd!!

Those Chickadees sure can fly fast and quick, I can't believe I actually got some pics of them, My camera battery needs recharging quite often. So maybe I get 2 or 3 pictures before it needs it again. The battery needs replaced, but I can't afford it now, so I have to keep recharging this one. The Tufted Titmouse sure got used to me in a hurry, they come down to the ledge and the feeder when I am outside.l wish we could have some of the winter birds around when it is a little nicer to be outside without shivering!

Great shots all!! Thanks for the new thread Resin. Hope everyone had a nice Christmas.

Had time to mess with the new flash today. I learned a few things and even though some sun would be welcome the flash has been making me very happy. The shutter speed is only 1/200 of a second on these shots and the flash really does a great job with them.

Burd, I saw that your flash fired "manual". What level of power did you have it set at, max?

All the pix look really nice. The flash must be making big contribution. What kind of distances existed between you and the birds?

Hack, I tried several of the settings but mostly stuck with 24mm and 50mm...I am about 15ft from the birds on average. The flash will be used for "fill light" (for shadows)...haven't had any sun to do this, but when it does show I'll be ready...more trials yet but think I,m headed in the right direction.

Nice shots GG, Missy and Burd!

wow, look at that tongue on miss Red-bellied! Nice catch on the Creeper too. I know how fast they are. Do they ever remind you of Superman when he flies around the earth? Lots of times I'll see them flit all the way around the tree like that.

Great shots Missy and Burd. Love that Finch Missy. Burd love the Woodpecker.

The Creeper's are like little type writer's they go up the tree so far than back to the bottom...yes the flitting never stops...lol

I found the power cord to my other camera, and maybe it will last longer than the one I have been using. I'm not sure how good it works. It has set for quite awhile, but I will give it a shot. Thankfully the snow has stopped for now, I am glad we don't live in New England with all that snow and wind.

We have a few of these Starlings this morning, I thought maybe it was a Thrush or Thrasher, but I looked them up and found it was a Starling instead, The Blue Jays like the bread I put out but couldn't get a good pic.

Granny, I agree, the starlings are pretty. Sorry your finch has that eye disease.

Elphaba, great photos of all your pretty birds.

Hack love that cardinal shot-he's gorgeous. Great shot of the Chipping Sparrow too.

Mrs Ed, congratulations on the new lifer!

Missey, cute leucistic finch and I love those warblers-so pretty.

Burd, great job with your flash photos. I love that red-bellied-wow, they sure photograph nice and the creeper shots are beautiful.

Teddy, you're doing great with your camera-the starling is pretty.

My House Finches are sure enjoying their fruit here. This one was taking a break.

I sure was surprised when this Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler jumped on a perch and seemed to enjoy the peanut butter and nuts.
