Beating the Winter Blues & Cabin Fever...# 2

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

LOL Don't you just love to embarrass your kids?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hee hee he...YES!!!!

Neighbor just came down. Said his mom & dad was out having a smoke on the patio room and all the snow came off the house and they can only get out by crawling out the living room picture window.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its that kind of winter.
Dont you think we deserve a early spring?

I've been beating the winter blues and cabin fever (just barely) by labeling and organizing all the thousands of daylily pics I took last summer. I couldn't tell you how many I've done already, but it's lots and lots. Very time consuming, but it keeps me busy, and I get to look at all my pretty DL pics and dream of summer. Can't wait for this bloom season to arrive! Heck, I can't wait for the snow to be gone so I can get out and collect all the dead branches, do some burning, cut down the poor, bent down birches, do some pruning, etc. I will have lots to do, as always, and it can't get here soon enough. Wish I could afford a trip to visit my sister in Texas for a week or so while I wait for spring.

Here's one of last year's pics, Red Twister.

Love the kitty painting (and one dog) slide show, Jo.

Sherrie, that must have been tough for your neighbors. Bummer!

Great pictures, Jo! Jan, you are getting a lot more done than I am....still knitting my GD's sweater....was hoping to have it done by Valentine's, but that's not going to happen....just can't knit with this sinus infection! My eyes are all over the place!

Hope you feel better, Robin! Have you tried a Z pack?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I just finished a z-pack and now I have sores all inside my mouth. The Doc told me to swish a spoonful of plain (no sugar) yogurt around my mouth and then swallow it twice a day. He said it's just as good as pro-biotics and much less expensive. He's a no-nonsense kind of ENT and I like him a lot! I hate antibiotics! In this case they did the trick though.

Victor - how is your little guy feeling now? Hope he's working his way through the flu! Poor little guy!

I also hope you are feeling much better Robin!

Is anyone else having trouble getting the photos to open? I wanted to look at Celeste's puzzle, but it won't open, and neither will others.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

The whole website is running slow for me. Could not load DG 10 mins. ago.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I had the same problem, Celeste. Now I can open the photos. Maybe I'll call it a night. I have to go watch Pawn Stars. lol

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

real slow here too

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They said on FB that they had a power outage

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I had trouble loading DG too.

It seems like I am having problems in more then one place on the net. Maybe because NASDAQ got breached?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Doubt that.

Thomaston, CT

The doc gave me amoxicillin, because it won't bother my stomach as much....and, Louise, I begin a yogurt regimen as soon as I start antibiotics. I hate having to take any kind of meds, but whatever this is, has really made me weak.....

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh man, sorry to hear that Robin...I had that stomach thing about 3 years ago and it took me months for my digestive system to calm down

East Bridgewater, MA

I don't want to be "indelicate"....

but any amount of yogurt more than 2 tablespoons has me keeping close proximity to the "powder room."

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sounds like an allergy to cow's milk, BA

Yep, I get the same effect with "real" ice cream.

(Many ice cream brands now use potato, rice, etc. fillers to trim costs, instead of true dairy...by obfuscating the true contents with the usage of 8-syllable chemical words, the public is often hoodwinked.)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Mashed chocolate is my fave!

East Bridgewater, MA

Soon it will be "strawberry au gratin."

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Baked Alaska??

Thomaston, CT

Yep, guess you have to read the labels.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hopefully, they squeeze some ice cream into the potatoes as well.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yep, that's why I normally buy Bryers or Turkey Hill, all natural variety even with Häagen Dazs you have to check the label where it used to only be 3 or 4 ingredients....but I found a great organic coconut milk ice cream at the organic grocer(can't for the life of me remember the brand), doesn't upset the belly

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

TURKEY Hill?!!! ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What???? you don't like Turkey Hill?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No - I meant maybe they put turkey parts in it!

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Love Turkey Hill and Breyer's

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Me too!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

never liked Bryers, not creamy, home made is best

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You make ice cream, Deb?!!

South Hamilton, MA

Peppermint stick? I had the slow DG this afternoon. fine now.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i am eating a debi's

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have an ice cream maker, we got for a Christmas present one year, but thought it would be too tempting for us so it's up in the attic...I may bring it out someday

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I actually haven't made it in a couple years, so need to get the ice cream maker back out too, but not til it warms up outside!

Thomaston, CT

Me, too....my fav is fresh lemon!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Marilyn, hope you get rid of your sinus infection soon.

I never liked Breyer's either. Whatever they put in ice cream, I don't really care. It tastes soooo good! I have not had any ice cream in awhile. We've stopped buying it here since the holidays. Good thing we did. We were all getting too fat.
