But thats when they have mara-thons! LOL
Beating the Winter Blues & Cabin Fever...# 2
When DONT they have marathons. Its also for SIL so he can watch football.
He is the master fire builder. I build one if there is no one else to do it.
Sounds a little bit easier with a tabagoon...who lugs rocks on Christmas??!!
Bill, of course!
Yes, with all that snow, no more rock moving til spring! Glad about your gift cert. Pixie.....wish I had gotten a few, but I got 3 sweaters instead, none of which fit!
I'll bet he will be out there lugging rocks in any weather and on any day. I think he may get way more than a foot. We are expecting 16". Stay warm and safe all. Patti
SOJ, Beyond nice. Green eyed at the moment. I got DH a lovely large Bronze rabbit to grace our new front garden and perhaps deter the real ones from eating everything near it. Doubt it will do a thing, but it is nice. Patti
Those are great GC scores, Pixie!! Half the fun with GCs is browsing and deciding what to buy. One of the gift cards from my son is a very generous HD gift card. I love gift cards, but for some reason DH thinks they imply little thought. From where I'm sitting with retirement budgeting, I'd much rather have a GC than 3 sweaters that don't fit! lol Hopefully, you can exchange them, Marilyn? The pain about that is that the return policies from stores make it a hassle and you usually end up with less than the original gift was worth.
I LOVE that granite bench, Songs!! And it sounds like you gave a lovely gift to the family, JoAnn, and got something very nice in return! Enjoy!
Here is one of my presents from Hank.....the Mexican Talavera Urn. Now I get the fun of putting together a nice group of plants to go in it. He also gave me tickets to a Feb. performance of a fun show at the Repertory Theater (one for him too). So now we have a nice cultural event to look forward to in January (South Pacific Broadway touring group) and this one. We have tons of family and friends' visits this Jan, Feb. & March, so fortunately, the theater outings fall in the off weeks.
DonnieBrook, I hope Hank only paid for the top half of that thermometer as the lower part is rather useless in your balmy climate. Green eyed again. I wonder if they make a Fla only one? Enjoy your weather and think of us if we get the 16" they are predicting today. Patti
I was thinking the same thing about the thermometer, Patti! The entire left side is useless. LOL They should make a half moon one beginning with 28 and going on up to 128! :) Good luck with the storm where you are (Nantucket or Vermont)??????
We are in Vermont. No snow yet...... but it is coming. Tell Hank to get busy and make up some FL thermometers and make a million for your plant fund. Patti
Enjoy, Patti.
LOL, Patti. Probably a good idea! Vermont, huh? Do you know that at least half the modern world fantasizes about being snowed in in Vermont? I was watching "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby last week and thinking just that. Hope you have a snuggly warm and beautiful snowfall without any power failures. :)
Love both the bench & the urn....how nice you folks got garden gifts! Hope the play is a success, Louise. Patti, the rabbit sounds wonderful, too!
Yes, perfectly peaceful and festive in Vt. We have a roaring fire going. DS and DH are cooking up some dry aged beef, roast potatoes, fresh winter carrots and Yorkshire pudding to go with the amazing yule log my DH always makes for our Christmas Eve dinner. This year we are having it on the 26th as DS couldn't get out of NYC until late on the 26th. No matter, it will be divine dinner, just a couple days late.
It has started to snow, and is pretty out now, but I imagine it will be a bit of a mess tomorrow. DS is suppose to go back to the city in the evening, but we shall see what the traveling is like as we may drive him down on Weds morning instead.
I think everyone is going to take a big hit except dear DonnieBrook who will be out in her short shorts and flip flops picking posies. Snowballs will be lobbed south if the power fails! Patti
soj THAT is a nice bench!!
It's a beautiful bench!! He did good!!!!
Louise, that Talavera Urn is lovely also...Hank did good too!!
Patti, so does DH make a perfect Yorkshire pudding?
That would be a knock out crismiss for me.
Why arent middle ages movies about cooking as well as torture and war and poisoning?
Yea, DH has always done a great job picking out gifts. Unlike me, he enjoys shopping! I love the bench; it's going to replace the makeshift thing I have down by the pond.
Roast beast & Yorkshire pudding sound great for a cold, snowy night!
That's what DH & I always called it....from The Grinch!
We had the Whoturky on Thanksgiving.
I like the Roast Beast cause it applies to any meat.
I finished the cat paintings for cat rescue.
19 is enough, they should be able to make decent money with these. I might keep a few to frame and put in my gallery.

Serious Sugar withdrawel today.
Loved them, Jo....hard to choose a favorite, but I really like Big Fat Black....is the rescue in Rochester? I'd like to alert my niece about it....I'll see her on Sat.
The woman who does appointments for my vet. is part of the group.
I will find out when the event is. Its usually in the summer.
I am so busy gardening then I decided to paint them this season when things are slow.
Thanks, Jo.
My niece was over today & I showed her the paintings.....she loved them!
Great job, JoAnn! What a great cause and a kind thing to do. I can't say I'm surprised though! :)
Finished another puzzle, this one was by far the hardest. It was only 750 pieces but they were very odd shaped and it took me longer to do this one than a 1000 piece normally does. This was also one of those "Where's Waldo" type puzzles. Things hidden in it that you don't see until you pick up a pieces and see it. When I bought the puzzle I saw A FROG....there were 3, I saw one butterfly, there were 2 , and so on is how it went. Obviously I bought it for the cheeriness of the picture.......wasn't quite so cheery putting it together!!! LOL
It has poppies, coreopsis, iris, columbine, black eyed susans, lupines,ect.....

Pretty one. I love puzzles. Patti
Want some? I have a few .......
Love that one, Pixie....wish my gardens looked like that!
Pretty, Pixie
I've been crocheting up a storm. Lap blankets for shut-ins.
A baby blanket for new GD to be born in April.
Another one for my 10 yr old GD in OR. Then the 3 yr old saw it and wants one. Her brother then wanted one, so I'll be busy for a while. :)
WOW, I guess you will be busy Jan. Must do some great work or they wouldn't be waiting in line!!
Not so much great, but the yarn I used was exceedingly soft. It reminded me of chenille. Then I double the yarn with something else to give it a variegated look.
Nice! I love anything soft....you should see me in the FLEECE dept. of L.L.Bean, touch, touch, rub it against my face....DD's hate it!!!!!
