OK, I would put that flight shot of the flicker on my wall. It's GORGEOUS!
DAILY BIRD PICS VOL. 364
Rose, that is a fun in flight shot.
Oh Adel, great to see the Steller's Jay and that adorable Quail pair!!
Congrats Elphalba on the lifers.
Oh you know how I love those quail!
Wow...Elphaba...congratulations on all your lifers!! I am really gonna try to find a Pipit this year. I have a good spot to look I think.
GG, that dee doesn't look happy...might not want to know!
Congratulations Elphaba! Love that Reddish Egret and the Geese.
Nice ones Rose and GG!
teddy_8905 - Much better. Nice Tufted Titmouse, Looking dead at you.
Nope, ducbucln, I've never, ever, seen a Pine Siskin. AND super shots of the male and female Nuttall's Woodpeckers.
Burd_Fotos - particularly like Eagle no.2
adelbertcat - pretty captures of the Calif. Quails & Spotted Towhee. I saw a female Sp Towhee today, but by the time I got the 40D, it was gone - drats.
GrannyGrunt - Nice Junco. AND the dee and female HOFIN made a nice duet.
Elphaba - I like the Sanderling, but the Ruddy Turnstone was intriguing. 15 lifers, you are blessed!
dellrose - OMG, at least 120 in the back yard this morning - WOW. AND the in-flight shot of the Flicker looked pretty good to me.
I tried to get him on the tiki torch, but just as I got focused on him, he flew. The tiki torch is right in front off to the side a little bit. Going to put sunflower seed out there and see if he comes back, there were actually 2 of them.
Great pictures.
Rose, I would be so happy to be able to take a picture of a flicker in flight that turned out like the one above. Love it.
Hack, ditto re. the House Sparrow. They are great looking birds, but nasty critters.
Wow Dave, glad you did. They are wonderful pictures.
Do you see the titmouse in the bush? He thinks he is hiding.
Am I the only one dumb enough to have stayed up most of the night to watch the lunar eclipse?
Lucky you! I looked, but it was cloudy :-((
Resin
cloudy here too, dave. well done though!
Am I the only one dumb enough to have stayed up most of the night to watch the lunar eclipse?
I couldn't sleep so was up and got to see it. I was too lazy to try and get pics though...yours turned out great!!
Now I'm sleepy!!
The pics of the Lunar Eclipse were great, I am going to go out afterwhile and try to get some pictures of the birds that don't come to our feeders. It is not as cold and I am feeling better. Going to have boots on instead of slippers!lol! The weather is supposed to turn bad later on, so going to try to get some before then. Also I have to hang up Christmas lights too, have not had the inspiration or the inclination to do it. But I will today.
Forgot that there is a "Shooting the Moon" thread in photography. I bet they have some great lunar eclipse photos.
Here is another bird shot from Freeport Texas -- Snowy Plovers. I clearly focused on the one in the lower right corner, but I think I should have focused on the one in the upper left. Still think that they are just too cute.
Rose, I really liked your flicker in flight shot. I tried for a couple weeks (never succeeded either) to get a head on shot like this of my integrade flickers.
Granny, love your little "dee" and finch photo.
Hack, love that male cardinal. Your HOSP look happy with your food.
Dave, awesome lunar photo! Our sky was clouded over so we missed it.
Nanny, cute shot of the wren.
Elphaba, cute plovers.
Lily, glad you're seeing the flickers too-I really love taking their photos.
This Brewers Blackbird sure was upset I was standing near the feeder box.
This is the first year that the Yellow-rumped Warblers are coming up to the second floor deck and I just love them. They don't seem to like any of the feeders, but they just sit and look around.
Nice Audubon's Warbler
Resin
OOPS, thanks Resin, I do already have that name on my photo-must have been another senior moment.
duc, I'd read that the Audobon W and the Myrtle W are the two subspecies of the Yellow-rumped W.

Hack

Love that kinglet shot. Wow!

I may have some type of Warblers came visit this past couple of days, but wasn't sure. Couldn't get a decent pic. to share. Arrrrgg! The good news is, Lord Byron has frequented the feeder today. He searched, and he searched the feeder for peanuts. I saw him successfully skimmed peanuts out of the seeds feeder x3 today. That makes my day. Duc, I love, love all your birds taken among the festive berries! Hello everyone, happy Holiday.
Hack, those pictures are FANTASTIC. I may need to figure out this RAW thing too.
Duc, just GREAT photos. The Warbler is my fav but they are all great.
Nanny, totally fun video especially the decorating tips in the background and did I hear puppy toes?
Lily, the only woodpecker that comes to my feeders is a red-bellied but he searches for the peanuts too. I mix in 1 part fruit and nuts with 2 parts black oil sunflower seeds. He goes all around the feeder looking for the peanuts.
