Dave, No National Guard here, but I love that cartoon! I've often thought of geese when I see the Blue Angels or other precision flying groups in formation. So, non-coms issue orders to airmen? How does that happen? I didn't think the chain of command would allow it. But I must admit, I know nothing about our armed services other than I am glad there are so many wonderful folks that are willing to serve - my utmost respect and gratitude to all.

I got a few funny shots last weekend out at Turkey Hollow ranch in the Texas Hill Country.

These Black-bellied Whistling Ducks were hilarious. They are always striking funny poses.

The Painted Bunting were beautiful. I must have taken 100 photos since I had never seen them before.

Another PB...

And yet another PB.
We set up a limb for him to land on. He wasn't very cooperative.

This silly duck followed the poor goose all over the pond.

Last one.
We set up a bunch of flashes all trained on the cactus bloom. Then, we put some hummingbird nectar in the bloom. We moved their feeder and put the cactus in its place. They were lapping up that nectar from the cactus blooms. There were four of us taking photos, so we spread it out over three days so we only bothered them for a few minutes each time.
