When to plant broccoli

benghazi, Libya

I live in North Africa. Can anyone advise me on the best time to plant broccoli seeds. I planted some seeds a few months back but from what I have read on this site it would seem that the temperature was too high and my plants have skipped a stage and gone to seed .

Hasben,
Try contacting your dept of agriculture if you don't get a
response on here. I did search the internet a bit but
didn't find anything that I felt would be helpful.

Good luck to you

Hasben, apparently except for the coast Libya is hot and dry in the summer. Winter growing seems more appropriate, Which would mean planting in September as soon as temps drop below 20 degrees Celsius for harvest in January, February. Broccoli will tolerate temps below freezing, which I believe will be rare for you.

Many thanks to Cris316 and Farmerdill for your prompt replies. I do live on the coast of Libya in Benghazi so I will harvest the seeds and try again next September,
