Well burn_2007, here in Ohio they are saying that there is a storm coming our way, they are not sure how much we will get, but we will get some. I looked on The National Weather page and the whole are where you click to see your part is under a hazardous weather statement. The map on the Intellicast page shows that heavy snow is coming our way. The only way I know that is the blue on the map is dark blue and that means heavy snow;( Which we DON'T need. I found a collection of pics my hubby took a couple of summers ago, this momma and papa goose was not crazy about Dana taking pics of them, but he managed to get some anyway.
Daily Bird Pics - Vol. 361
Ok, my bad, it was last summer, we loved taking pics of the babies, the parents did hiss at him a couple of times. Thank goodness for zoom lenses.
Great variety this thread...nice shots all!! Have a couple of shots to share. Its going to get colder next week here...then Bay is already froze over and the lake is on its way...the birds I seen on the lake last year were do... but with the cold it may be to late for me to get any shots of those this winter. The new 580ex flash I ordered has arrived a day early along with the better beamer kit, will be testing that out when I can.
Red-breasted Nuthatch
Mrs Ed, Love the Yellow-breasted Sapsucker!
Nice pics burn! Sorry about those darn Starlings.
Teddy, Good pic Dana took of the Goose with family!
Burd, Love the Red-breasted Nuthatch and Chickadee!
Great photos burd. We rarely see a red breasted nuthatch here, the whites are all over our feeder.
Mrs. Ed, that sapsucker is so pretty! I haven't seen our female for a few days now. Was so hoping to have her all winter.
The male Northern Flicker doesn't come everyday, but he is coming often and eating the suet. I have seen the female with him a couple of times...but she hasn't come down to the platform yet.

Resin, what fantastic finds-love that owl. The woodcock looks so sweet.
Mrs Ed, that sapsucker is just beautiful.
Burn, love your little wp too. That starling sure was a smart-and hungry-little one.
Teddy, I see the large goose was banded. Too bad you couldn't read the numbers on it.
Burd, excellent shots of the nuthatcher. That chickadee is such a sweet bird.
Nanny, cute flicker shot. Is your suet feeder close to your house? I have two out in the garden and can't get my flickers to come to it.
My crows are sure enjoying this suet. We put this feeder out for them after we felt sorry for them when they kept trying to eat from another hanging one.
This guy was in our neighbors backyard tree, I was outside trying to figure out why there were not any birds and heard a squawking noise. My hubby has a monocular so I got it out and tried to find out what was making the noise, I found him and her, it is a pair of hawks. I don't know what kind but I took this picture, with my hubbys camera of course. Could someone tell me what kind of hawk it is? I am very happy to get this shot, we don't see hawks around here very often at least not where you can catch them with a camera.
Congrats on those shots Resin...I love the Barn Owl the most!
Mrs. Ed and Nanny...I see the Sapsuckers and Flickers all over the farm everyday and have yet to get a shot of either of them...I am now jealous (again)!!
Burn...I am also jealous of your beautiful Hairy...haven't seen ours in weeks. I am having the same problem with Starlings..they have moved into the area in great numbers!
Burd...great shots and I am on the lookout for a Red-breasted Nuthatch...I have never seen one and yours is gorgeous!
Teddy...congrats on your shot of the Hawk...it is probably a Coopers or Sharp Shinned but one of the experts will ID positively..
Duc...my goodness...your shots are like a breath of fresh air. I love those berries, they make a beautiful back drop for those awesome shots!
Here is one of the female Blues that seem to camp out in the back yard since I started feeding mealworms.
Teddy, cute hawk. Someone here will be able to tell you the species.
Rose, the photos of that bluebird and red-bellied are fantastic!
I thought you all might enjoy this youtube video of a raven and an eagle. It sure is cute.

I've gotten too far behind due to my work schedule to comment on all the wonderful shots here... but a couple really sood out to me.
Nanny... your shots of the Pileated and Downy together are fantastic! How nice that they share so well!
Resin... what an awesome catch of the Barn Owl!
And Duc... that one shot of the Red-bellied WP is simply stunning!
So many others that are so nice too - great job to everyone!
Wow! That is incredible! But exactly where would the Coho be going when there is no more water???
Heron flew to the other side of the creek, hoping for bite sized fish.
Rose, it's amazing to watch the salmon! When they reach that "dry" spot near the top of the falls, they will flop around until they are able to drop back down to a pool below. We had heavy rain last night, so I will go back up and see if that area has water now. There was about 6' of dry area, but they had worked up about 30' to get there, and with several turns.
Duc, that particular platform is approx. 18-20 feet from the back window, so it is pretty close. The flickers have always come to the yard. Maybe yours have enough food available they just don't need ot come get suet!
Teddy, that second shot is really good! If it just would have been looking your way...darn!
tigerlily, I like your shot & that Coho is HUGE!!!
Pileated stopped by this morning for breakfast!
Here's a fuller view of the falls, though the day the images above were taken there was less water, and the middle area wasn't flowing at all. The fish mostly try to get up on the right hand flow, which is long and twisting. The left flow is extremely turbulent, and if you see a fish jump there, usually you'll see 3-4 being washed back down.
Hopefully, I'll see a higher water level today.
Hack, can you tell me how to "tweak" a picture?
Wow you guys have been busy! Great photos from everyone!
Teddy, I sent you a D mail.
I got it and downloaded it, but I don't see where it says how to sharpen the picture, maybe I am missing where it is, could you be a little more instructive? But it has a lot of features, thanks for directing me there.
You have to click on the "Effects" tab.
Hack, can you tell me how to "tweak" a picture?
teddy, download Picasa 3.8, its free and then you can tweak you pics. I used it for a while. Then, I took out my piggy bank and bought Photoshop's Elements 7 program, that is the one I used on your pix.
You hawk looks pretty good so I didn't do anything to it.
http://picasa.google.com/
Lots of the folks on here use it. Some of them can give you more detailed help on using it. It's a good program.
Hack
I think it was a sharp-shinned hawk, I went up to the store later on and saw a cooper's hawk, I did not have my camera at the time, but he was pretty too. I downloaded it so we will see how it works.
Gorgeous birds from Oz Margaret!!
Great job. I love those Pelicans with their huge eyes!
