My amaryllis went into the ground to hopefully make it through the summer!
Time to share some color in my Florida garden!
You've done a lot of work....really loved the desert rose!
Hey, Marilyn! I also love the desert rose. It has never looked so good. It's hard to just leave these things to take care of themselves, but whatcha gonna do? lol
I'm glad you popped in! I hear you are getting another snow storm!!! When WILL it end??? Hang in there!!
Do neighbors look after the garden while you're up north?
Not really. My neighbor turns on the sprinklers for me in the back yard on our assigned water days, for about an hour in the early morning. He does that until the rains come, and it keeps some things from drying out too much. Otherwise, everything ...including the weeds....are pretty much on their own. In the front yard, some of the neighbors pull a weed or two now and then to keep the house from looking abandoned. Of course, we do have lawn guys....you can't escape that down here. We've had the same guys for about 15 years, and they do a good job in keeping up with it. When we come back, the back yard is pretty much a jungle. I pull out all the annuals that will die so that no one has to do that. The rest are natives that do pretty well.
Love the desert rose, it's one of my favs. Tried growing it here once but it didn't like Maine winters. That apple blossom b. just takes my breath away, beautiful!
I know what you mean, Celeste! I'd love to have a desert rose up at the farm, but it's a no go! And I really love that Apple Blossom! I had planted my Apple Blossom Amaryllis in front of it, but had to move it. It's still a teeny one and I hope it makes it in the island bed.
lots of drool looking at your photos!!!... the girls are too sweet
Yes, the girls are too sweet! I also meant to comment on the rest of the beauties but was too tired to type and missed mentioning them all together, sorry!!
Everything looks really good Louise, it must be very hard to wack away at them. I love the impatiens along the fence, it's stunning but simple.
Lovely desert rose and bouganvillea. Two cuties for sure!!
LOL...the girls can barely keep their eyes open! You had beautiful color this year, Louise, in the gardens....
Hi Allison, Celeste, Jan and Marilyn! Don't worry, Celeste.....no need to stay awake to comment on the photos....I wouldn't even want you to try!! lol
I have really enjoyed the color of the flowers, and now that Spring is in full swing here, I am really enjoying seeing the native flowers come into their own. I did a ton of whacking back today and Hank dug out a huge Boxwood that is hogging a primo area where I want more color just outside our sunroom to the left of the desert rose. I was afraid the boxwood would crowd out my yellow elder and I am working hard to get it to beef up, so......gonzo!! It will be fun in the fall to put some pretty colorful natives in that area....maybe even a dark red desert rose if this one makes it through the summer okay.
We have finally gotten our new TV service and 2 DVRs (included with the service) that will be fun to have. Most of the day we were without phone and internet again, but it's finally all up and running now. Our bundled bill will be $40 less per month and we now have 2 "free" lol DVRs. I had called Directv last month to protest the constantly rising prices with no added service and they just blew me off. Today when I called to cancel their service, they were turning upside down to get us to keep the service. They even offered to match the deal we just got. Louise: "Well, if your person had been as good as you are being when I called last month, we probably wouldn't have dropped you, so you can let your bosses know that they should fire that guy I talked with last month." LOL That was fun!.....and true. We've kept our service in NH because that's all there is up there! I may play the "loyal customer" card next month when I call to see if they have any better deal for us there. :)
Goodnight for now, my loyal and dear Pals.........I'm thinking of you all up there!!
Louise.....with two playful and not very sleepy puppies at my feet, rolling around and playing with a toy ice cream cone. :)
