Thought For The Day #10

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Really think about this one, and how you interpret it.

"Evil brings men together."
~Aristotle~

I think it would be better stated that, 'Evil brings good people together to fight against it."
But that is my interpretation.

It may also bring the evil ones together as well.

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together. ~Carl Zwanzig

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Yup, it's all in the interpretation evelyn. : - )
Sweet shermie, yet another use for duct tape. LOL!

Did ya know in Great Britain a few years ago they had a census? One of the questions on the form was, "What is your religion?"
Meanwhile, some pranksters got on-line and encouraged their friends to put down Jedi Knight as the answer to that question. It kind of snow balled from there, and I 'heard' it was listed as the main Religion practiced in GB at that time. Even if not true it is amusing. LOL! : - )

My DGD IS a Jedi.

Mackinaw, IL(Zone 5a)

A kwanjin, she's adorable! It does look like a Jedi's cross-over robes. You should photoshop a light saber into her fist. ;)

(Zone 7a)

I would if I knew how! Waaa!!!

Hemet, CA(Zone 9b)

"If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you right"
Henry Ford

I saw this quote many years ago on the wall of a loan office where I was (all by myself) getting a 2nd loan on my home so myself (as a single Mom) and my 2 kids would be able to stay in the home to finish their school years. Thank you Jesus I had a small thought that I could do it and we remained in that home till they finished H.S.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Gosh, I'm a few days behind, but I'll try to do some catching up. We had some beautiful sunny, warm weather, and I was outside much of the time. Of course I overdid it and spent most of yesterday sleeping. I really need sleep so it was a good thing. : - )
Got some goodies to bend your brain. LOL! : - )

"Though no one can go back and a make a brand new start,
anyone can start now and make a brand new ending."
~Carl Bard~

Someone ought to help kwan with the DGD's light saber! LOL!
I don't know how, or I'd do it. : - )
Seriously, kwan, that kid gets cuter every time I get to see a photo of her! : - )

Another:

"Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing
that nobody's going to know whether you did it or not."
~Oprah Winfrey~

I really like this one, try it blindfolded sometime. ; - )

"The less we look with our eyes,
the more we see with our hearts."
~Lyndsey Albrecht~

Last one for now, but I think I may have saved the best til last. I'm thinking of all of my DG friends, and this is for all of you! : - )

"Somewhere there is someone who dreams of your smile,
who finds in your presence that life is worthwhile.
So when you are lonely,
remember it's true,
that somebody somewhere is thinking of you.`
~anonymous~

Has anyone heard from Sharon lately? I miss her. : - (

Have a great day every one!

Not being one to remember or seek out inspirational quotes, this one (which I'm sure many of you know from the song) is pretty good:

"If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life
Never make a pretty woman your wife
So from my personal point of view:
Get an ugly girl to marry you."
(Jimmy Soul)

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

Sharon has been cleaning out her garage. You can find her on the clutter-free forum.

I found this silly thing today and even though it was probably a kid's joke, it made me smile.

"If you hear an onion ring, answer it."

Love them all!!!

"If you're happy and you know it,
Then your face will surely show it
If you're happy and you know it,
CLAP YOUR HANDS!!!"

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Jasperdale,
Thank you, I've been looking for that song! I love it, but didn't remember much more than the lyrics. Thanks! : - )
Good one evelyn. I love kids jokes. My favorite is, "What does the girl mushroom say to the boy mushroom?" (drumroll ~~~~) "Gee, You're a fungi!"
Chuckle. : - )
Clap, Clap, stomp, stomp, toot, toot!
This has been a happy day. : - )

"On the road to life there are many paths . . .
some twist, some turn, some dip, some curve. As long as
you keep your focus, your destination is obtainable."
~Brenda Good~

Thanks evelyn, for letting me know where Sharon went. : - )

BTW, I don't collect these quotes, but my calendar aka THE BOOK, has them written at the bottom of every other page, and I have years of THE BOOK, because I record my appointments, and field trips and other activities in there. I get a new one every year. I also like it because it has all kinds of other general information too. Like measures, and time zones, and travel tips. Anniversary Gifts for a given year (i.e. 25th is silver), birthstones, all kinds of nominally useless until you need it stuff. LOL!
Today I'll put down we saw the bobcat too. : - )
I find them other places too. They are all over once you start looking. LOL! : - )

my grandkids taught my pet pig(a pot belly) a trick and surprised me with it for my birthday=
When you look at her and say "HAM"
she shakes her head no and runs off.
then turns around and comes back for her treat (an apple)
funniest thing i have seen in a while.

I have no idea how they managed to do this.

"You should never laugh at your dad if he's mad or screaming at you."

Yeah, especially if you are 12 years old...LOL!! ^_^

This week's Love Our Earth quote

I recognize the right and duty of this generation to develop and use our natural resources; but I do not recognize the right to waste them, or to rob, by wasteful use, the generations that come after us.
—Teddy Roosevelt

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Good old Teddy Roosevelt. Nce find Evelyn. : - )
Did ya know he banned the Nat'l Christmas Tree in the White House, it really disappointed his kids who smuggled one in, they also convinced their Dad, that Christmas tree farms or plantations were a better way to go by enlisting the top forestry guy (who was an advocate of replanting the logged out forests), in the country to help convince their Dad? Kid Power!
I liked the 12 year old's quote. I learned that one when I was about five. : - (
I don't know how kids do it either, Shermie, but I think it's awfully cute. Pigs are really quite smart, they say smarter than dogs. : - )
Also learned no matter how funny what the cat is doing, NOT to laugh at it. It hurts their feelings, and if you aren't careful they'll pee on your pillow for laughing at 'em. Pretend you are laughing at something else and they'll pretend it never happened. Kids, cats, and dogs, you got to laugh at their antics. : - )
Don't know if you all know what a big fan I am of this lady, but I love this quote.

"Everyone's a star and deserves the right to twinkle."

I must rmemeber this for the next week(our forecast is 7 straight days of rain, unusual here)

The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.

No fair, shermie, I was going to use that one next! LOL! Seriously, it's a goodie. : - )

"Friends are the most important part of your life.
Treasure the tears, treasure the laughter,
but most importantly, treasure the memories."

i am going to try and remember rainbows as I slog through the mud for the next few days. well, assuming we get enough rain to make mud. so far, that has not happened.

Well shermie, at least we ain't eating dust!

You are so right ! I will take the rain any day.

Yeah...we don't usually get this much rain. I suppose it is better than a drought.

Last year after the rains (more than we had gotten for the past few years), i had a bunch of different wildflowers come up that i had not seen before. so, i hope for lots of rain and then lots and lots of new wildflowers in the spring! better rain than a dry well.

Sierra Foothills, CA(Zone 8a)

I just hope it does not flood the low-lying areas. I know they did release twice as much from Nimbus Dam yesterday. I don't know about the other areas. I hope that CA has its flood-control procedures in place.

seems like Calif. is never quite prepared for rain. something always happens. One of my new neighbors just moved out because it "gets too muddy here" well big duh. she had horses and couldnt deal with it. go figure. just moved in last spring and kept complaining that her truck got too dirty from our little dirt road. some folks just need to stay in the city i guess.

here's another Irish Blessing: (one of my favs)

everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
and may all the wishes you wish come true!
