(originally posted in the wrong forum...oops)
Today I was moving perennials around and dug up a stash of small bulbs where this spring I'd planted a few cheapo For-Me-Nots (Myosotis sylvatica "Royal Blue") I'd picked up at Home Depot (I know...I am weak). I thought I'd killed them by poor site selection 'cuz soon after planting they promptly died (or died back?)
So these bulbs are 1/2" to 1" in diameter, light brown "husk" with a yellowish/greenish "curl" of foliage coming out of the top. I can't find much information whether FMNs form bulbs are not---just that they self-sow aggressively and some species are biennial. I can't find anything for this particular cultivar at all.
If anyone can help, time is of the essence, since the bulbs are in a pot and its forecast in the mid-20s tonight. Yikes!
Thanks!
Kerry
Is Forget-Me-Not a bulbed plant?
I'm pretty sure that Myosotis are not bulbs. What you're describing sounds similar to Crocus. Could you post a picture?
Myosotis is definitely not bulb-forming, and the bulbs do sound like crocus. You can simply replant them...
