It rained heavy for a day and a half. Yesterday I noticed that the new flower bed I put in was under about 6" of water. I tried digging trenches but that didn't help. The only thing I could think of was getting the old shop vac and vacuming out the water. It took a couple of hours but most of the water is gone. My neighbors must have thought I was nutts!! I worked so hard on the garden this past year and couldn't let it all drown. The section of the yard I put the bed in has never flooded before. I do have some sections that flood but not the one that I planted in. Don't know what happen, but know I have to come up with a plan so it doesn't happen again. We had other heavy rains this pass summer and it never flooded like this. I hope vacuming out the water helps,if not, all I will have for all the hard work is a sore back and legs.
That's what I did yesterday. What did you do?
