wow, those are BEAUTIFUL!!! All from your garden?

Tremendous pictures from some plants there in Hawai'i Dave! Thank you for sharing.

Rita, the picture of the sun showing through your hoop house is awesome and Debra your Stictocardia vine is very pretty. It sounds like you have alot more bloom's to enjoy from it.

Red Oak, TX

I Hope that everyone had a great day!

Joeswife, Your Stictocardia is awesome, I just love the colors on that bloom. It is amazing how fast those oxalis multiply, has it bloomed?

Hedychium Elizabeth, making a grand exit for the season.

GAGirl1066, I am glad that you found us! I hope that it was not too bad getting your plants in. I have a few of the old reliable plants still blooming, so I will show them off before I give them a trim for the winter.
Thanks for showing that beautiful variegated Hoya. I have had one for 4 years now and never seen a bloom.

Metrosideros, You always have something interesting and beautiful!! Do you have a name for that Hoya?

Red Oak, TX

LiliMerci, Did you remember to bring the Hoya plant in? I have a few that are starting to bloom. All of the mark-down hoyas from Lowe's have survived the summer, the fish tail is the only plant that is looking sad.

RachelLF, thanks, How is your Philo Mamiei? I have three leaves on mine. If it survives this winter, I will transplant to a bed with better soil. I sure do not want to lose it. I have tried finding another start without any luck.

Rita your plants are so pretty hard to believe it is winter there.
I have seed pods on the strictocardia, I hope they hold. Did I already announce that?
I checked my bucket of cuttings tonight, I have roots and root nubs on all of them, I am over joyed, now to get them planted or potted.

I promised someone one of those big variegated sharp leaved plants. I can never remember their name. They are really going crazy. You can see them under the table there. I am going to pull one out and box it up this weekend, and surprise her for Christmas.

OO Rita, when you start trimming, send the trimmings to me, LOL I will gladly pay shipping. Did I send you the hibiscus? I really need to start using the trade tracker or something. I am going to trim a few thing back also, I will post them here in case someone would like the cuttings.
The crinums look good, will be so glad when they start growing. Thanks again.

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

Hey guys ! I'm still kicking around ! Metro, right about now I'm think HI is a good place to be !
love the Hoya !
Debra, did you grow your Stictocardia from seed or cutting? I have one growing from cuttings then heard they will not bloom from cuttings...
I've got the White Thunbergia rooted for both you and Rita, but they are small and I will wait to send till they get bigger. Rach - got your Passi Insence rooted also, so will try to send soon.
Rita, I love your blue Iochrorma which one is that !
Here's what we woke up to this morning - and the Brug Equador pink was just setting buds, the Milk and Honey has about a dozen buds on it, it's up under the Oak trees so it may be ok, I brought the Purple Queen Iochroma inside and it's by the window in the extra bedroom. Nice about those they are small enough to bring in.

Hi MJ,
Love that passi, that is so pretty!! Looks like you had a harder frost than we did. How cold did it get there? We had 27. I really hope we are not going to have another COLD winter.

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

32 up by the house, but the pasture in the pic is always a bit colder, the tree line in the back is the border of 3500 acres of St. Johns Wildlife management area.....plentiful wildlife, bears, turkey, deer, coyote, otters, etc etc...LOL....
there was lots of humidity and NO wind = frost, didn't stay cold enough to freeze any of the water troughs tho.
Thunbergia alta African Sunset, was just developing seeds, it's under the edge of a treeline also, so maybe it will be alright. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Well back outside .....

MJ,
What do those seed look like? I have Thun. Spanish eyes and I have looked for the seed and never see them. I had several come up from seed from last year though and I dug them up Tues. before the frost and put them in the GH so I can take them to the other house. I like that one too, if you find seeds, save me some ok? If you would like one of the Sp eyes, I can send it to you when ever you want.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

All so beautiful, you girls are so lucky! Thank you for the eye candy.

Hello All,

Sorry I dont have any pictures of my tropicals as they are in hibernation indoors. I really thank you all for sharing your pictures.

Prita thanks so much for the all of the wonderful plants and seeds that you sent me I am truly enjoying them. The Pothos is now 2 plants but is the spring will go into one big pot I hope that my niece will be able to bring it into her downstairs for me. I have yet to ask her .............lol. I have started trading with some of the seeds as their are so many and still more to post for trade or sase. I have started a special gift for you what I will shio to you in the Spring. It is an Angel Trumpet that I started from seed from a good hybridizer and the name got wore out from the sun but I remember that one the plants that was crossed with was peanut#2 which would make it either a single or a double. Well I finally moved it to a pot where it can grow and hopefully bloom I think that you can make one of them bloom. I hope it is a double but I can dream can't I........lol. Oh and your pink ginger that is there that you showed here is that the same one that you sent me? Oh well I will take pictures of them this summer I can not wait for the warmth.

Well I have to go for now thanks again for the wonderful pictures they give me warmth just seeing them.

Happy Gardening,
James

Hello All!!

Joeswife, it is very nice to play in the hoop house on those cold and windy days. If I knew then what I know now, I would have a better plan for heating and ventilation.
I do hope that your seed pod matures for you, they are much desired seeds.

GAgirl1066,I will be pleased to send you the cuttings, is there a particular plant that you have in mind?
That is a very good idea to post when you have clippings alvaiable. I will be forever grateful to candela for sending my first box of clippings, the pink/purple firespike plants are almost 8 ft. now.

mjsponies, th scene from your first picture does not go with the address. Brrrrr, not in Florida.
Thanks for starting us that white Thunbergia, I hope that I can repay your kindness. LMK
The Lochroma is "Royal Blue" if memory serves me right.
Thanks for showing those colorful blooms, especially your Hoyas. I have not seen one yet that did not pique my interest now that I am getting the hang of keeping them alive.

Pensacolagaden, you are so very welcome! I happen to know that you love plants as much as I do. I can't wait to see my special gift in the spring.
I have been enjoying a few plants from you as well, no blooms from First Belle, but it is thriving.
No need for pictures, it is nice of you to pop in and say Hi.

Rita, I just love the first picture you posted tonight. All those plants are so beautiful but those Aroids sure do catch my eyes very quick;-) Your Mamei is looking real good and mine is still holding it's own but it sure has had a hard time since it had such an attack from spidermites back in the Summer. I hardly ever see it for sale but Ecuagenera does sell it at a very reasonable price. That site sells some unusual and hard to find Anthuriums and Philo's.

mjs, I had the same thoughts as Rita from the picture you posted of your frost covered ground and the horses all blanketed up. Thanks for starting me that Passiflora and that is a good picture of your vitifolia.

GAgirl, my box arrived today and I just love it. Thank you so much.

a noid Christmas cactus, it's a bit early this year, and will come into the house tomorrow as we are expecting a "real freeze" down to 26 here. This is the 3rd year where we have had below normal cold. What is up with that ???? You are all still my very favorite thread to visit. Got 2 horses going "out" tomorrow and several "booked" to come in Tuesday. LOL, it keeps me busy !!! If I'm not "here" I'll be close by..back ASAP, SURE do not want to miss such great pics.

Beautiful pictures again. I can't believe the temps you guys are having.
Rita what is the pink and green plant you posted? I love it.
here is my Iochroma blooming still in the basement. It is purple queen. I am still looking for the blue one. I have one located, but the shipping is twice as much as the plant.

Good Evening Everyone!!brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it is cooool outside.

RachelLF, I am glad that you liked my picture. I will be working in that area soon, enriching the soil and raising the bed another 6", before transplanting the potted plants. I have moved those plants around the HH until I find their happy spot, then transpant them.
Thanks for introducing me to that site. Unfortunately, they were out of Mamei.
I always enjoy seeing a new Anthurium leaf, each one is unique.

This was a Lowes mark-down noid Anthurium, planted several years ago.

mjsponies, we are expecting a freeze for the next couple of nights. I was going to leave out a few Zanthosoma Mickey Mouse to see if they would survive the winter. But I changed my mind and dug them up. I find my
self doing this every winter, sometimes in the middle of the night I am out there digging up plants.
I am glad to hear that your business is doing well, and that you are keeping busy doing what you love.

That is a outstanding shot of your CC.

Joeswife, that is a very healthy Hoya. I hope it blooms for you soon.
The pink and green plant is Alternanthera 'Partytime' from Dale Tex. It roots quite easily. I can send you cuttings of the blue lochroma and a few from Partytime if you would like, on Tuesday. I am planning to go to the PO anyway.
