Love the lobster trap tree.
Very pretty JoAnn
What and When Holiday Decor
The lobster trap tree is really cool looking.
I am so glad we got our outside done last week, it is so cold and windy here if I had to do it this week I wouldn't have decorated!
We have our dinky new little tree up and I don't like it, maybe it will look nicer once it's decorated. It was my idea to down size and now I'm disappointed. The big one goes back up next year for sure or we go back to fresh, drag it in drag it out, no two flights of steps to the attic with bad backs and bad knees!
Ronnie, I have had a concolor fir for the past 2 years....no needle drop! And the smell is very citrusy.
Cute lobster trap tree! Some people are so creative!
JoAnn - your decorating has such warmth to it. Love it!
Hank is going wild out there putting lights around our palm trees in the front yard. I think he's got a contest going with our friend across the street. He's really into it. I'll see if it's possible to get a shot somehow. lol
Thanks Louise. I see the weather is continuing. I will paint today too,it makes me feel less trapped.
Smart strategy, JoAnn! Nothing like being creative and productive!
That sounds nice Marylin, the pine smell makes my eyes water!
JoAnn I so don't envy you other than the White Christmas part!
Nice tree Dave
those are nice dave - we have had about three of them, they last as long as my wife remembers to water them:) they must like it dry because they can hang on for months without water.
True, Bill.....my son had one in his room for years....doubt if it got much water, maybe beer once in awhile!
LOL RD.... good job Dave!!!
Nice, Dave! I had one for years. They take lots of abuse - probably loved the beer, Robin! :)
Yes, it was amazing!
I really thought we had a lot more LED lights than incandescent .... but I was wrong... hopefully we will be done by tomorrow (fingers crossed)

those numbers are still going to jump up big time.... I know the arch is something like 1500 or so... Randy has to find the empty reels of white lights before we tally those up
hubby is actually adding some more lights tomorrow, nothing like your house though...LOL
totally understandable
:)
I need to win the lottery

Not only tyhe lotto but I would need 6 years on the computer to program something like that.
I love the rain lights the best.
We are getting ready for the neighborhood party here at 7PM.
Most of the work is done.
That involved putting diningroom chairs in the livingroom and deciding where the "grazing stations" would be and the traffic flow etc.
Its an appetizer and dessert event, everyone brings a dish based in their house number ( odd numbers bring appetizers, even numbers bring desserts ) We have a few starters for the early arrivals.Just veggie platter.
Beer and wine.
Sounds lovely, and what a great idea on the house #'s!
that is so nice
Yes, great idea....good way to keep in touch with the neighbors...our road never gets together!
We just got home from our new neighbors' holiday open house across the street. It's always fun to get together with our neighbors here....lots of laughs and all nice people. The new neighbors had completely renovated the place and it looked great! Yours is a great way to do it, JoAnn! I hope you are enjoying your party as I write this!
Kids were in a short play at church tonight, they did good...the funniest thing happened at the very end the only grownup in the play went to move the microphone stand out of the way and hits herself in the head then her youngest son trips over the cord and knocks her in the head again...it was so stinkin' hysterical.
The party was a great success.
There must have been 40 people crammed into the dinningroom and living room.
No one sat down until we formed a circle for the Chinese Auction.
It was a riot.
YES I got a whoopie cusheon.
LOL! Sounds like a great time Ge! Glad it went well :)
that's awesome JoAnn... glad you enjoyed it!!!
the problem with Randy and I right now... we both have ideas how things should be done... he over complicates everything... I want to keep it simple and we bash heads... I had to walk away grumbling
Just because you walk away doesnt mean he wins.
Jen, you'll remember all those funny things in your kids' lives....Louise, glad you had a good time, nice to see how someone else does over a house....Jo, I can't believe you got the Whoopee cushion! I'm going to our Fellowship Dinner at 1....I'll see what I get for a grab bag.
Somehow I dont think it will be s pillow that makes noise.
Yahooooo
The family just went to get the tree. I am testing lights.
Sounds like fun, Jo! Great to have a large crowd.
he listened to me after all
:)
The tree is here.
I cant help it.I am not too crazy about it. Mant dead needle free branches at the bottom. This is after they rrimmed it to fit the stand.
They said there were prettu slim pickings 2 weeks before Xmas.
Guess we sacrificed a nice shaped tree for our neighbors party.
I would rather have the neighbors, the joy lasta longer.
A nice Roumanien couple who moved here in October. Now they will come to the sak parties we have in the summer time.
the party was worth it
What's a sak party, JoAnn? So glad you had a great time. It does sound like a fun party!
How 'bout your dinner, Marilyn? Was it fun?
While Hank was napping, I went to the grocery store, but detoured by Home Depot and bought 24 more impatiens and snapdragons. Gulp. I'm glad I went to church this morning! Forgiveness is key in these matters. They are still in the car.......it's supposed to get cold again. I can't find any dark purple impatiens anywhere. I like them paired with the bright orange and white. I did find some violet ones, but that's not exactly the same punch.
Cul de Sak. This neighborhood is a long road with a culdesak on one end and a left short road with a culdesak at the end.
We would email close neighbors and make an imprompto party in the circle.
JoAnne we found a new tree farm this year as the last few have been slim pickings where we used to go. Hundreds of perfect trees. Most 6 ft or less, so may be the first year or 2 open. I actually like a tree a little sparse with open branches, but this one is really full and perfectly shaped, and took maybe 5 minutes to spot it before chopping it down.
