You must get tired of my 'mom' updates...lol
She just called to tell me she called her insurance company and until it's 6 months of no 'blood clot' that they will not insure her, it's only been about 4 so not go but she tells me she contacted her brother Gerry and he's willing to drive down with my step-father and she'll fly (again not thinking, shouldn't fly with blood clot' and says she'll take the chance..told her ' well, if you don't mind taking the chance of losing everything you own, then go enjoy yourself'
So now I can plan MY Christmas, wether it be staying home and taking on a big project (want to get the ceiling done in the basement) or deciding to go somewhere for a week it will be my choice...
Well, let's just say that's my plans TODAY!!!
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n
Betty - what part of "your Dr said NOT for 6 months since blood clot" doesn't she understand? I agree with Linda - it may be the pain meds talking, and not her as she normally would.....
yes, not understanding!
Lindakay, lordy that looks tidious and a lot of work, lovely though, are they for you tree?
I'm wondering if she's panicked, like she knows the news of the dr and therefore thinking if she doesn't go NOW she'll never be able to, which could be true given her age and health, but sheesh! Betty pain meds or no pain meds you're doing the right thing, you can't stop living your life, I know I haven't for my mom even though she's in so much pain she can't do anything, you just gotta keep going and pray for them every day. That's all you can really do, if you try to please them you'll be wrong no matter what.
Kyle just called to tell me about his new job, so nice to see him so excited..went on to say he was responsible to pay ref. and scorekeeper from gate receipts, keep log of revenues and expenditures, quite a responsibility for a 15 year .. was telling me they will hire a 2nd student then he'll have more time off..works every evening this week, bit much for him, wouldn't want his school work to suffer!
That is to awesome working and excited about it. Here they can only work so many hours a week while in school. And grades are watched also. Way to go Kyle.
I agree - Way To Go, Kyle!! I sounds like they appreciate that he can "do the job" even at the young age of 15. That's when he'll have a load of energy, and that's what they need, apparently!
I always feel overwhelmed when I see him do so well especially when he's thought of as being challenged...
I don't consider him as challenged..... unless you mean by an over-protective grandma!! (Sorry, Betty - couldn't resist LOL You can beat me "later' if you want to LOL)
Go Kyle! At least HE has a job!
Yes, I've been waiting all day to hear from them, and I would say that since it's 4:21 here, that it isn't going to be today. Sigh.....I'm trying to think that no news is good news....
Not because I'm his grandmother but I find him beyond his years, his dad was much the same, always took the world on his shoulders, was never really a kid..he's done fine as will Kyle.
Darlene just called, she must have heard Susan that snow is around the corner, sending her Mike to pick up my snowblower and get it serviced..he's picking it up tonight on his way home, thank goodness for good friends.
I'm on a 'thank the Lord' kind of day, Rose called to ask me to pick up something and mentioned that Cathy had been over and cleaned my refrigerator, yikes, 2nd time in matter of weeks, she must think I'll kill myself eating science projects..lol
Good for you Joyce, praying for both you and Susan!!!
Have you been enjoying the last days of outdoor gardening and have everything put away for the winter...do you get lots of snow or is it just the very odd snowfall that stays..
Joyce - I'm in the same boat, except it's only 2:28........ still, I haven't been told I Don't have the job (ie: someone else has it...)
I keep thinking that they've been told, by someone in the other side of HR, that I've been told I have the job, and they don't know how to handle telling me I don't.......
Either that, or they're busy moving to their new location. I don't KNOW they're moving now, but I was told that it was going to be soon (late Oct) and one of the phones has been transferred without her knowing what her new # is...... siiiiiiiiiigh Someone tell me not to "borrow trouble" please..........double siiiiiiiigh...........
geeze - Maggie...... was it easy to put on again, or Have you gotten it back on........???
Maggie oh no... to the door to the oven............You are painting your kitchen cabinets what color? I painted mine cheaper than buying new. As mine are new just did not like the color and did not have a choice in which where put in.
I can't get it back on. Apparently the weight of the glass bent the metal that holds it....or was supposed to hold it. The place we bought it from is going to bring us a new one tomorrow. The glass that's exposed is hot. Keith opened the oven to take dinner out.....and it just fell off. Crazy huh
The paint is a sand color. It's light. I just did the walls 'olive' and 'western red'. Sounds nuts, but what do you expect when the owner is nuts??? :)
hahahahaha Maggie - you sound like my kinda gal!! I paint rooms colours that no one understands until they see the finished product!! Show us a pic once it's done, ok??
Will do for sure! I bought some pretty rugs. I'm aiming for a french country look. We shall see!
Great, Maggie - looking forward to the pics!!
I once did a dining room with pale yellow, and mustard yellow sponged over it. The painter who did the drywall got the paint. The fellow behind the counter said I'd hate the mustard colour. Well, I got so many compliments on my painted dining room that I felt kinda smug!!!
oh the colors sound great. I did my walls yellow light . And my cabinets are olive green. changes the room completely.
......I bought a dark mustard color for my living room! It's next on the 'to be painted' list!!!!! I had a few people say "ewwwwww mustard", but I have this vision.....and it's gonna look great! :)
I know, eh? It's amazing how many people have an opinion without seeing the finished product!!!!
Maggie - the bottom of the wall looks sorta like what I painted a feature wall, in my previous place. I did wide vertical strips in clear poly so it looked like regular strips, and shiny stripes next to each other. The colour was called Louisiana Hot Sauce.
The rest of the living room was painted in a cafe au lait on the other 3 walls. The "burgundy" wall was the one with an arch, so it wasn't overpowering.... just beautiful. And it faced our picture window, so all could see it.
Sounds very nice!
I just checked to see if Louisiana Hot Sauce was still available, and it is.... from Mycolors.com - Benjamin Moore CC124.
I'm going to have to get it again, if I find an historic home.... the one I used to live in was a 1912 home, and it needed some rich colours in it!!
Omg, oven door falling off is not good..hopefully hubby didn't get burnt..so will they replace it soon? just remembered, it's your Thanksgiving this weekend isn't it (or is it the next weekend) wow, hopefully they'll get it replaced so you will have an oven ready to cook the turkey and bake pies...
I love the windows, am sure your house will look fantastic..I've tried to go for the french country, not sure if I'm achieving it, but enjoy the look as you feel so warm and cozy in it..perhaps just I feel that way but I'm the one who lives here aren't I???
Anxious to see the finished project..it's amazing that more than 1/2 the work is in the prep..are you hoping to have it all done before Christmas, surely you are not the only one doing all the work???
Got some meds for my itch, think it was brought on by Debbie and her itch..lol..shared with Sailor girl as she's starting the pull her hair out again!
Rose is in the other room doing school project, I've had my bath, magazine came in the mail so am thinking I might go read and just maybe wrap a few Christmas gifts..don't want to start anything, besides, pharmacist said pills might make me drowsy...
Maggie - that room looks fantastic (for the design I mean, NOT the wallpaper or lack thereof! LOL)
I think you & I should get together on some painting - my best friend says I'm a "paint-aholic" LOL
Listen Bessie...I did not cause your itch! LOL Unless you fed me soy sauce or coconut. Maybe your developing an allergy....to your phone! Every time Mom calls....you get hives and break out.
It has been a busy weekend...I have gotten myself into a mood. Trying very hard to let it pass.
Had all the kids over Saturday for Shannons birthday. Was a nice evening, and I got to snuggle the baby for a few minutes before Andrew stole her.
It just breaks my heart to look at those kids, and know how bad they want a baby and neither can have one. Yes, they know all the "can always adopt" but sometimes....it is just a brick wall.
Here is Andy & Carrie holding baby Kylie
Ok a note to all.....There is a Turkey recall Texas and Ohio not sure where else. Plant contains listeria. Looking up in a minute. Looks like processed turkey and some ham. Please be careful...
She's beautiful!!!! Oh those cheeks....so kissable! It is sad that they desperately want a baby and are unable to have one. :(
My mustard is called 'pirate's treasure'....kind of a burnt mustard / gold. Now I'm nervous! lol

THANK YOU!!!!!!
Hello All !
Deb - made me tear up a bit with your DD holding the baby... Seems like that little one will have parents all over the place... like your DD helping out the young Mom...
Ya'll are fabulous with all your colors... figure out what looks good then come paint my house. I can't match a thing... hoping they come out with Garanimals for Women so I can buy clothes LOL.....
Ya'll should think about little ole me everytime you look at your Louisiana Hot Sauce Red ! :)
Okay - Thanks to my bookworm friends.... I checked out Rain Gods/James Lee Burke and Kiss the Girls / James Patterson. I looked for Ann Rule and couldn't believe they didn't have her... especially when I saw a review on the Patterson book by her. She must have been all checked out.
On Page 119 of Rain Gods. Must be an omen because we FINALLY got some rain today. LOL!
Hugs to all.. I'll check back in a bit...
Mary
Mary, both of my girls had tears in their eyes after Britt left. They both want a baby so bad....and to think I have 3 daughters, and the chances of any of them having a child are really slim to none....all different issues.
Hmmm, thats something about the book. You googled the titles and nothing? Did you try Barnes and Noble?
gotta run DH to store....
