Time for a fire Gypsies

Delhi, LA

Yes. They usually come in for a couple of weeks during Christmas and Tony hunts. They can't come this year because of getting ready for the move the first of February and trying to get their house sold. Tony is using this as his excuse to come in and hunt a couple of days.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

And one can HARDLY complain about sneaking in a bit of hunting...GRIN

Delhi, LA

I surely won't complain. In fact I put in a lot of time and spent a few dollars to fix a place for him to hunt.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Do you hunt with him Jim? he is lucky to have a FIL that provides him with a blind.

Delhi, LA

I very seldom hunt. I can think of a lot of things I should be doing while sitting in a deer stand. Like to eat them though.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Yuck! I'll send you my share of the deer that my BF's daughter got this year Jim.
Wait, I'm not home much at supper time when he has the venison, so I'll take that back.
Could be the fact that I had a deer for a pet when I was young, so I've never had interest in eating them. I would rather let them run, as long as they don't run into my car.

Seed, that was my BF's daugher who is the big hunter. She didn't have a lot of luck this year, actually the count was down this year. The first weekend they were out both on Saturday and Sunday, and saw nothing either day, and didn't hear any shots either.
She came back up on the following Thursday night (Thanksgiving) after working until 11 PM, and they were leaving for the woods by 4 AM the next day. She told her dad she was going to take anything that came out that day. That was the REAL COLD day up here. She took a doe at 7:30 AM, and shortly after she did that, another doe came out and was followed by a buck........LOL Oh well, that buck will get bigger by next year, provided no one got him after they saw him.
I told them they where hunting in the wrong place. The deer here are not dumb. While they were out hunting, I was working and took my client for a ride and we saw 5 deer in town grazing on a lawn...........LOL Those deer know people can't shoot them there. The night before I saw one running along a sidewalk in town when I was leaving my job.

Starting to make Christmas Candy with my client. He enjoys doing things like that, and I found out that the lady who was his full time caretaker makes up tins for his family each year as their Christmas present from him. Between her and I, we will be making all the cookies and candy for them with his help.

Yes Smiley, the little one sure has cheeks. :)

OK, Time for me to head off to bed.
Have to touch bases with you all from time to time :)

Hey, what happened to vennis? I don't think I have her right e-mail address and I wanted to know if the little voodoo bulb that I sent to her grew.

Hey Jim, here is my Nephews daughter with her first buck. She graduated this summer from High School.

Nice buck Kassy. I grew up eating meat we raised, beef, pork and chicken, so I have no problem eating Bambi.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Kassy I emailed you Venice's new email adddress.
Morning everyone..hope you all have a geat day...and Jim send us some of that sunshine and warm air, I'll send you some snow. LOL

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

LOL Jim, how did you know MY deers name was Bambie...........LOL
My mom raised chickens, but that was about it. And we never had any of those as pets.
My bother wouldn't bring home a baby calf when he was working on a farm. He had thought about it because the mother wouldn't feed it and he thought about bringing it home for me to take care of, but then he figured I wouldn't eat beef either.........LOL

Actually, I have had venison Jim. It's ok, but dryer then I care for. Living with my BF I guess I'm going to be eating some from time to time.

Thanks JJ, I got your e-mail.
And thanks Jean, I got d-mail too.

Glad she loves hugs Kassy, cuz with that smile she will certainly get a lot of them....GRIN

Delhi, LA

We've had the sunshine but it has been pretty cold. Actually had snow flurries this morning.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

We got light rain instead of snow flurries. Supposed to get pretty cold tonight (20's) and then hit a high of mid 60-s, low in the 50's and 71 for Saturday....guess LSU is playing.....GRIN.

Thanks gang. It really drives and rides like a dream. I've driven compacts for so many years that this one seems like a luxury car.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

That is because it IS a luxury car my friend....grin

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Nice Car Jim.
Jim, you had flurries? Can I send you about half of what we are getting? Please, Please. We are getting hit tonight with a bunch. They have been changing the snowfall totals since yesterday. First we heard 4 to 7 inches (not too bad for us up here), but now they have it moved up to 8 to 12 inches. Parts of the state already have the 12 inches and are still getting more. I'm hoping we are not going to get that, but the weather says it will continue all night into tomorrow. Sure glad I have the weekend off and don't have to set foot out the door.
Winds are going to pick up and then it will be drifting snow too.
Churches all over the TV viewing area are already canceling for tomorrow so no one goes out.
UGH, they just said some area's will have anywhere from 18 to 24 inches by the time it ends late tomorrow.

LOL JJ. Hey, she doesn't always smile. She has started teething and the I guess the kids are having some fun with that. So she has her cranky times.

This picture was taken when they were here in November. They were getting ready to leave.
Oh, her grandmother in Florida made her the winter blanket that she has on there. Easier then dealing with a coat with them in a car seat. They just bring the car seat in the house and then unzip her and get her out of it.

Oh, and JJ, how much snow do you have there?

Smiley, I'm sure you have more then we do.

Love that kid Kassy. A real doll.

Our weather is just crazy. It was 70 today and will be down to 20 Monday morning. Thursday it will be back up to 60. No way to get use to any of it.

The car drives and rides like a dream. We can even carry on a conversation going down the road.

Speaking of luxury, he had a Caddie he wanted me to buy but I just didn't want to put up with the ribbing.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi all! Kassy, she is just too cute. Are you buried in snow yet?

You have far more snow than I do, all ours is south of the city. If you hear of Buffalo getting snow, it's generally south of the city proper. I live just north of the city. It's actually raining today, they predicted a snowstorm, but it's almost 40° already. They're predicting a lake effect storm for Tuesday.. we'll see.

Jim, that's just great that you're loving your new car. Makes me smile!

Have a great day everyone.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

We didn't get a lot of snow only about two or three inches. Most of the problem here was the winds blowing and causing whiteouts and blizzard like conditions for a few hours overnight. Storm stayed mostly North of us so we dodged the bullet this time.
So glad you are enjoying the new ride Jim.
Stay safe and warm all.

Delhi, LA

Trying my best jj.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Lucky you JJ.

Yes Smiley, we got dumped on. 10 inches came down and then it was the blowing and drifting snow.
I went back to work today and guess who got to shovel the side walk?
Lets just say that I'm not really happy with the company that I'm with right now. At the last company I worked for, everyone was responsible for doing the shoveling. It wasn't all left for one person. I can understand why the one who was his full time caretaker can't do it now. She has cancer, that's why she had to cut back on her hours. She got her nephew to come and plow out the driveway at least. But we have a young girl working the day shift, and any time we complain about her, our supervisor's excuse for her is "she's young yet". My question to that is "what has that got to do with anything?".
So I shoveled the front walk and a path to the alley so I could take his garbage cans out.
I want to tell this company "baby them and they will never grow up".

And yes, I'm thinking about looking for a different job.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

All the more reason for her to do the shoveling, Kassy.

Marinette, WI(Zone 4b)

Calling Jim, I have a message for you.
and for the rest of the the gang.
I sent some pictures to Karen since she is not on here anymore and this was in her e-mail back.......

Give my Garden Buddies big hugs for me.
Stay in touch. Karen

PS tell Jim to behave!

OK Jim, should I tell her you are behaving? LOL

Delhi, LA

Naw, it is to much fun to misbehave. At my age, I don't have much time to horse around.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Just wanted to pop in and say "MERRY CHRISTMAS " to all. Hope you all have a freat time with family and friends.
And Jim Sorry but Santa can't top a car. But I'm sure Mrs. Clause will think of something. LOL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Merry Christmas Everybody. This is the time to share, to care and to give up a prayer for all that is good in our lives. Give thanks for children, for the good friends that enter our hearts and special thanks for our husbands and wives. Remember the joys and let dim the sorrows....be at peace and welcome the gift of our tomorrows.

Best wishes for Peace, Love and Joy to you all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Keaau, HI

So this is Christmas
and what have we done.
Another year over
and a new one just begun.

And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun.
The near and the dear one
the old and the young.

A very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year.
Let's hope it's a good one
without any fear.

And so this is Christmas
for weak and for strong
for rich and for poor ones
the world is so wrong.

And so Happy Christmas
for black and for white
for yellow and red ones
lets all stop the fight.

A very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year.
Let's hope it's a good one
without any fear.
