When are you looking to plant them outside?
you can start seeds now for collards, cabbage, mustard well pretty much all greens, lettuces, radishes, beets, garlic, onions, english peas, broccolli, and carrots. brussell sprouts take a lot longer from seed and it will probably be too warm when they're ready to harvest (warm weather makes em bitter.) but you could probably get a harvest from plants if you get them in soon. where you're at i would even try a few tomatoes if you can keep them out of the north winds. especially since they're saying we should have a mild winter. i usually have 2 or 3 tomatoes, peppers and eggplant in earth boxes during winter and leave them outside where they don't get north winds. unless its gonna get below 40 overnight i leave them outside. i don't get as much as in summer but its usually worth having to haul them inside a few times. by the way, sounds like you may be new to gardening here. come spring you want to get your more heat sensitive stuff (cucumbers, summer squash, and green beans started in feb. so they're done before the heat and humidity sets in. i usually follow them with the heat loving stuff. sept. i plant beans, cukes, and squash again, then start all over again with winter stuff. with a little planning you can grow here year round.
