What lies behind us and what lies before us.....
What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.

~ Sir Winston Churchill
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Thought for the Day - #9
"There is no use trying, said Alice; one can’t believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven’t had much practice." said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Got to watch where the boys go too, but it still holds true. Don't you eat that yellow snow! ROTFLOL!
"Promise me you'll always remember. . .
You're BRAVER than you believe,
and STRONGER than you seem,
and SMARTER than you think."

"When you come to the edge
of all the light you have known and
are about to step out into the darkness,
FAITH is knowing
one of two things will happen . . .
There will be something to stand on or
You will be taught how to fly."

So Enjoyed reading all of the quotes today. Not to mention those photos Evelyn. It's starting my day off with a grin. : - D

Our power just came on as it has been out for most of the say with the snowstorm. Now the laptop's media port will not work, and the desktop will not dial out. I suppose I will have to call HP tomorrow. One thing I have been putting off. Since I am now unable to send you any more pictures, well, that is reason enough.
"People rarely remember what you say, but they remember how you make them feel" Unknown.
That's good, Margaret!
Thanks, Evelyn
Evelyn, I hope you get the 'puter problem straightened out, soon. It's snowing where you live? Just cold and rainy here. Never did warm up.
Loved the quote about the stained glass windows. Priceless! : - )
Too true, Margaret, and good to hear from you! : - )
Sweet Shermie, all too true! : - )

SW ~ The only thing with the last quote is - how can we spend time in the future? I only know how to do it now, even though I may waste some of it...
Wonderful! I applaud you all!!!
Shouldn't evaporated milk be a gas?
Energizer bunny was arrested....he was charged with battery.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Sorry, I just had to share that one here!
Wow, lots of awesome quotes the past couple of days! I had to save a few of them. Very thought provoking!

Found one more.
This poem was found in the pocket of Al Capone's lawyer, Easy Eddie, upon his death.
""The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power to tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour. Now is the only time you own. Live, love, toil with a will. Place no faith in time. For the clock may soon be still."
Swiped from an email. The whole story is really interesting. Ask Dillansnana to tell/post it. It's a good story.

weegy, you've been hanging out with kids again haven't you? : - )
I loved the energizer bunny joke. : - )
evelyn, I am guessing that he worried about and planned for his future. I'm trying to enjoy the present, and quit worrying so much. It's not easy, so I try to balance it with plans of happy making things. : - )
kwanjin, I'm still trying to figure that evaporated milk thing out. Scientifically, if you evaporated all the liquid it would break down to a gas, or most likely, water vapor which most people don't think of as a gas. There would also be a solid residue, which is how I suspect we get powdered milk. Quit asking the hard questions. SLOL!
BookerC, so nice to hear from you! : - )

Dripped from scars of the sage
Flow be-rhyming and alternate sadness
Beloved poet; cried the ages

Brief respite with your wisdom, and your madness...
A true friend is one who thinks you are a good egg even if you are half-cracked. ~Author Unknown
My friend's know that I'm fully cracked!
Where is Menifee? All this wisdom....
LOL, "shermy"!!
Yes, the computer stores words, and we use them, hopefully wisely...
Not so shermie, plenty of wisdom in our part of town. : - )
evelyn, you may be more familiar with Sun City, which is now a small part of the newest city in CA.
Shermie & I live in the oldest part of Menifee, which has a long history.
NAI were here first, it was part of a Rancho during the occupation by Spain. There was gold prospectors, who were followed by farmers in the late 1800's. In the early 1960's, Del Webb, built his first retirememt community here, called Sun City.
I hope that clarifies things for you. : - )
You could say the place has grown on me. : - )
I liked the poetry DeepWater. Been times I've felt like that. Some novel metaphors. : - )
weegy all my friends are cracked, Thank Goodness! : - )
shermie, thanks for the reminder. It was a timely reminder. : - )

some of Murphy's Laws.....
Doctors' Law - If you don't feel well, make an appointment to go to the doctor, by the time you get there you'll feel better. Don't make an appointment and you'll stay sick.
Law of The Result - When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.
Law of Close Encounters - The probability of meeting someone you know increases dramatically when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.
Law of Biomechanics - The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.
Law Of The Bath - When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.
Law of Random Numbers - If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal and someone always answers.
Law of Probability - The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act.
Law of Gravity - Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.
Law of Mechanical Repair - After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you'll have to pee.

Don't forget Jules Rule: If you just had it and can't find it, especially if you haven't moved, you are probably sitting on it.

Ah, that rule held true for me in the car the other day. Couldn't find my cell phone until I got out of the car, and realized I'd been sitting on it. Good thing it didn't ring, eh?
My phone vibrates then rings...imagine how I felt when I was sitting on mine...and it 'rang!'
