I recently moved to a house with raised beds that had been newly installed by the previous owner. Among the soil additives used was mushroom compost. I've come across two strange developments. In one area, mushrooms that looked very much like Shitakes sprouted up. In another, mushrooms looking like Chanterelles did. I have no intention of playing with fire and poisoning myself, so I've uprooted all of these. But is it possible these were actually edible mushrooms?
