When seeds have sprouted for these, does each plant need to be replanted to about l2 inches apart? Or is it possible to leave them all scattered around in a bunch as they come up from the seed.
Mustard Greens, Lettace, & Spinach
It depends some what on the cultivar, The large Indian mustards (B. juncea) will produce greens when crowded to 3-4 inches. Mustard spinach ( B. rapa var komatsuna) do better with a least 6 inches. Spinach needs about 6 inches. Leaf lettuce will tolerate some crowding, but heading lettuces need space. Most of the time we sow these relatively thick and then thin, using the small plants as baby vegetables. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/59948/
