I would like to thank everyone for their help and advice, I don't know how to plant flowers but you guys helped me out. I just have one question and I probably won't be asking anything until spring, the plants that I planted yesterday, do you think they will go into dormancy and be ok until spring? They were watered really good yesterday when I planted them. I tamped down the dirt after I watered them, and piled the leaves on them, can you tell me if they will be ok or did I do something wrong. I know they do not bloom until later in the summer, but I hope they live through the winter, because we have some severe winters up here. Thanks again.

They will go into dormancy. Most likely they will be ok. You can look them up in PlantFiles and check them for your zone. You can also give them some winter protection...as little as a plastic bucket over the top of them or as much as a blanket wrapped around them for the winter. Styrofoam also works well. I'm sure you've seen this done. Do a google search on winter protection for woody plants and you'll get lots of info.
