I think this is what I have in a pot in my foyer. I had it outside on the porch all summer. I found it at a plant nursery. They only had one. I asked them what it was. Obviously the boss was not around because they told me "We don't know. It's some kind of Brazilian thing. We haven't been told how to care for it yet." So I can't tell you what it is except that if it's some kind of Brazilian thing, it likes to be warm, it enjoys being moist and it isn't fond of being in a real sunny spot. Sorry I couldn't help. Mine get those pink clumps of flowers at the very top of the plant and no where else - kind of like it's putting on a hat.

Looks like a plant I used to have called X Ruttyruspolia 'Phyllis van Heeden' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/90600/ Or maybe a Pseuderanthemum of some sort--some of them have similar flowers and would probably be more commonly available http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=pseuderanthemum&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=rating&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
