I have a four year old rose that I have always just allowed to grow as it wished which is straight up. Only one little flower on the end was the most I got from it. Now I find out that it is a “climbing” rose and must be “trained” against a support of some kind. The branches should be at a 45 degree angle. I cut them back and will install something for it to be attached to but there I am stuck. I cannot visualize what kind of thing to put there that will be both strong enough and wide enough for the rose. Is there a store that carries the proper things for this application?

You mean you need an arbor or a trellis?
