AWFUL BIRD PICS VOL. 17

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Wait, wait, those are Mallards! Sorry folks.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Had 3 Orange Crowned Warblers at the pond at the same time. Tried really hard to get a pic of at least 2 of them together. Didn't work b/c of shots like this one -- one is headless and the other is all butt.

LOL, good try Elphaba! They can be difficult.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Yours is better than my attempt to capture 2 Brown Creepers at the same time...while it was spitting snow too! lol

Can you all see them??

Ha. I see them. Those are stinkers to try and catch.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

I think I see them. How exciting to see two!

Here's one that was just a disappointment. If only you could see his face!

Still a pretty pic Elphaba!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh Elphaba. I can see why you would be disappointed, BUT, since we have lots of snow on the ground, it is very exciting for me to see live plants!!!

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

Yes the live plants look good ,since its like 20 here !!!! Love the last shot ..

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

We had a bit of freeze the other day and some plants have a bit of damage but so far everything is pretty green. If you can see it that is b/c the leaves are falling at about 2 feet an hour. December is really fall around here. My neighbor's tallow trees are brilliant colors right now. The paper whites are blooming though and I usually think of them as a spring flower. I guess we really have blended seasons.

Has a few tiny drawbacks though. That clematis on the trellis decided to come back after the summer die back. It's covered with mildew! Really should do something about that.

Well, have a great holiday everyone.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

gee and we are expecting up to 5 inches of snow here by tomorrow and everything is brown. Would love to be having fall now! Really need to move somewhere warm for winter.....

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Me too. Hawaii perhaps?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I'm for it all the way Mrs_Ed. Hawaii it is. :)

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

I thought I'd be the only one checking out the daily thread on x-mas day and was thrilled to see there are other crazy people out there like me. Dave's bird watchers rock! Don't have a pic that's good enough for the daily thread though!

This morning GORGEOUS house finches all over! A friend who is a super serious birder told me that purple finches have been spotted near me, so I'm staring at every house finch for any sign of purple finchness! This house finch looked big, but it's cold this morning so just puffed up. He also has some yellow. He was so pretty. It's just so dark out that I couldn't get him. Today is a cold, blustery dark x-mas day. I may need to head to Hawaii too!

This house finch was soooo pretty. This is my best pic of him, but sadly, he has a stick in the eye!

Your male House Finche looks nice, Elphaba. Let's all plan to travel to Hawaii, shan't we? We're having snow down here too, the birds didn't know what to make of it (snow), but maybe they do. They've flooded the feeder to stay warm, perhaps.

Everything was wrong when I pressed the shutter. ISO way too high, sun in wrong position, argh.

At least I can tell it is a male Red-bellied Woodpecker.
