Bloomers or Boxers?! Great bad shots to share.
AWFUL BIRD PICS VOL. 17
Ahh yes the wish for more zoom. Don't matter how much you got , you always want more! Ignore the digital zoom...nobody uses it....a total waste!
I've asked DH for one of those bird blinds so I can sit in the back yard unnoticed. Less zoom! ha.
Yes ,ive learned that, unfortunately !!! I told the dh yesterday,Iam hoping my camera wears out before the warranty, and I get to pick out a new one.wished now I would have gotten a SLR,to replace my last lemmon of a point and shoot.I have an old nikkon 35 mm ,thought oh I still shoot with that..wrong !!! This panisonic tz5 is a nice point and shoot, just not good for bird shots.
I have thought about one of those too!! A lady I know on another birding forum use to use one and got great shots. She is published a lot in Birds & Blooms.
OM you were reading my mind ... was thinking the very same thing tehe
She does that... so beware! lol
I've been aching for a bird blind too. Didn't someone post one last year that just goes over your chair? I think it was for sale at Walmart. I remember thinking that I could just put a camouflaged sheet over my chair and cut a hole. Never got the sheet though.
Here's a bad shot from Monday. This red-tailed hawk landed in the tree above my car. I backed up and took a pic through the windshield that was OK, but it was a really cloudy day. Then I snapped this as he flew off.
awww....that is a shame!
I haven't been out birding as often in order to be able to contribute on our daily treads; but this was a delightful occurrence yesterday when I spotted these Cedar Waxwings passing through our area. They stopped by briefly to check out the bright red leaf of this Black Gum tree in our neighborhood. Picture was taken behind a moving car....arggg!
Wait, wait, the picture turned out 'purdy good', maybe I'll post on our daily thread after all.

thank you ,we are fortunate,Iam pretty sure I saw his mate too or juvie who knows!!!! Iam sure they live not far from our house,I need to go on a walk and see if I can spot where they live ,we also have redtailed hawks that live close by too,our house is the front 3 acres of a very large woods that runs north and east, and we have a wet lands and creek. We have a birders heaven, wish I had a birders camera !!!!! dang I messed up on that ,I got my camera before I found Daves...We look for the pileated every morning,Hack I will enjoy him for you..LOL he is just wayy cool, prehistoric looking birds
ive got 2 Pileated adults, hanging out here Iam soo excited..Need to read up on them. I love hearing them call ,sounds like a crazy bird....They are out there this am ,wishing I had a real camera,I do but its a 35mm film, yes I said FILM...!!! my point and shoot is good but not good enough to shoot 60-75 ft close up
we just set up a heated bb and the feeder and suet cake on the west side ,its closer and I can shoot through the window !!! We have a screened in porch and we can do a lot of watching through the screen but ,if I open the door and step out off they go ,I wait...LOL our porch is like a blind we can move about ,open that door...
Oh, yeah, hugger. PS should do it up nicely.
