AWFUL BIRD PICS VOL. 17

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Got a shot of a bird behaving badly? camera not cooperating? headless birds? birds that glow? beautiful blurs? Worst of all that rare or unusual bird that you only got one photo of and its horrible? This is your forum! Share, share, share!

If you want to see some previous awful shots, we came from here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1115853/

Here's a blurry male Black-throated Warbler at the end of a tunnel of glowing foliage.

And nothing quite like a leaf in the face.

very good bad photos =} Iam still laughing..Iam not hyper just busy...

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

They're still all cute! The Flickers keep moving their heads! I need to train them better I guess.

This pair of Mockingbirds were arguing over the berries on the vines.

Thanks Elphaba....great...errrr bad start! lol

I don't know duc...that last one is kind of cool!

As close as I was to this Field Sparrow I should have been able to get the shot!

Was soooo close on getting a good one here.....

Another Myrtle Warbler with branch shot! lol

LOL Nanny, I think all of these "almost perfect" photos are what give us the incentive to keep on taking pictures.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

Those are some fancy feather shots duc!

Nanny, darn it on that branch anyway. "Branch in the eye" -- another common photo ailment.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

The first time that I've ever gotten pictures of a Belted Kingfisher and I had my camera set for bright sun on a cloudy day. Darn it!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Elphaba, I know how hard it is to get the kingfisher to sit still. Been there, done that on the wrong light or camera settings so I feel for you. Still, I think your photo is wonderful!

Again this Oak Titmouse was too fast for me! Practice, practice, failure, failure-oh well, at least this is an "almost".

Duc that Titmouse did not get away by far, your only missing a part of the bill.:)
Elphaba, I know the disappointment, about your Kingfisher, the first time I saw a Red-breasted Nuthatch, all the pics I took of it were bad. I'm improving slightly, but not by much. I still can't get a sharp one.
Nanny lol, The twig in the face is a common one for me too. Yes that would have been a great shot, but I still like it.

Oh great photos !!! I so have lens envy. The backdrop was so perfect for the sparrow.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

I like both of those photos!

This is one of those "almost good" shots. Tad too shady. I think this is an Orchard Oriole.

No, look this way! Over here! Behind you! -- Ruby-crowned Kinglet

Hi all, it has been a while since I posted on our threads on birdwatching forum. But, I haven't had much luck on capturing good pics. like this one of a Belted Kingfisher.

The silly bird; was looking up the sky when the fish were swimming below. lol

These ... I'm not sure if they were American Coots, or what?

These are (A. coots), that signals the cold weather ahead. These fun 'waterchickens' will hang out here all through the months to come, 'til the growing season resume here in the South.

Look like a blurred bird coming in, on the left middle part of your second pic of the Kingfisher Kim, might have been his mate, he was looking at.;)

Awww, that's would be sweet if it were the case his mate is coming. :)

They're geese, probably Canada Geese.

Mrs. Ed, those pics crack me up! Great blurs. All of my house finches disappeared. I'm quite sad about it. I must have bought a bad bunch of safflower seed.

Lily_love, that's a better kingfisher pic than I took! Looks like tough conditions for photos though.

Mediterranean Gull

Dratted autofocus focussed on the grass behind, instead of on the bird :-(

I was on thread # 12 posting my bad shot . Thanks for the GPS Resin. It brought me right here. :) I'll add super bad shots here too.

Not a bird I see often. This Hooded Merganser turn it's head as I clicked.

Oh double drats Resin!

You must of been dizzy from all thos eshoys burn! lol

I was having holding thecamera steady this morning with the pileated.

and the flicker...lol!

Thumbnail by nanny_56
Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

That flicker is trying to live up to the "wild" in "wild birds unlimited."
Burn, HATE it when they turn their heads at the wrong moment.
Resin, don't you just wonder what your camera is thinking sometimes. There's a big fat bird in the middle of the focus area and it goes for the grass. My camera does that too. Drives me nuts.

This is not a bad picture, but it's not a good picture. It's a weird picture. I rather like it though. It's like a Where's Waldo of birding. Didn't put this sparrow on ID forum, but I would guess Song Sparrow.

well it sure does capture the moment nicely.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)
