suggestions on plant types / scented and pretty / not to big

oxford, United Kingdom

Hi all! me and my father are both keen gardeners but we dont know a great deal, if this makes sense, we both seem to have a talent for plants, as we never get anything die...well very rarely, and we have quite a few plants....but, i was looking for some scented plants for him, as outside he has a huge lavander bush, some sweet williams, nisturcians *cannot spell sorry* , mother in laws tongues, money plants / jade plants , a few cactai, strawberry plants, chilli plants, geraniums...

But he was looking for indoor plants, that are scented in some way and bloom big and pretty, but the plant doesnt get too big too fast , does anyone have any suggestions? maybe i would need to buy seed packs, because our local shops do not have much variety, but the big problem is we just dont know the names of any plants like this, and we dont know any other people who enjoy gardening.

Any suggestions will be great, common and latin names also are good because you cant go wrong with a latin name really can you :)

Thank you for reading this and i hope to have a reply at some point

I'm more into outdoor plants, but there are many that can work indoors if you have the right light conditions. Gardenia is one that comes to mind. You also can force bulbs indoors, which can give you a headstart on spring or just keep them inside.

With any of these, be careful if you have pets, as some (including lilies) are poisonous, particularly to cats.
