Sports Talk!! Part 5

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

had not heard about that marilyn - very sad!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I heard. Very sad and glad I did not see it happen. I would really hate to see that in person. Bad enough hearing all those stories from my wife.

South Hamilton, MA

Let us hope for recovery, although it seems not to happen with hockey players who have the same sort of thing. In your 20s is so sad a happening.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have not read about it yet, but it depends on the level of injury and whether or not is was complete.

Thomaston, CT

The coach said he feels this kid will walk again, but it will be a long road....does your wife treat football injuries, Victor?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

She is double boarded in physical med and rehab (aka physiatry) and in spinal cord injury.

I read a bit about him - not looking good at all. His injury is c3-c4 - really high. Reeve was c4.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yay, Giants! Beat those Phils!

Thomaston, CT

Your wife must see some sad cases, Victor....you're right....this looks like one of them. The Giants won....hope they can continue!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yanks got away with that hr!

Thomaston, CT

Agreed!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Guy in our network group is a chiropractor that works with the Rutgers teams

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

only in ny!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Sorry to see Teixera get hurt. He's a class guy and always plays hard. He was busting it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not looking food for the Yanks.

I guess I would root for the Giants against Texas, though I would like to see Texas win too!

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

I have left-field bleacher tickets to Game 5 between the Phillies and Giants. I'm hoping it is a clinching opportunity for the Giants. Even if it isn't, with Halladay and Lincecum facing each other again I'm sure it'll be a fun game to watch.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool!

Maine, United States(Zone 5b)

Patriots and Red Sox fan here, loving these last few Yankees games. :D Also rooting for the Giants....time for some fresh blood in there, even if the networks hate that it might not be phillies/yankees again. (or so I keep hearing) I was shocked to see the fans leaving the stadium in droves the last few nights....even after being just a few runs down! Wonder what the players have to say about that.

I do like Derek Jeter, and love Mariano Rivera. He seems like a great guy with a good sense of humor.

Thomaston, CT

Was sorry to see Texiera go down....he was sliding into first...not always a smart thing, but I like the effort. Hope you see a great game GardenSox, & I hope San Fran clinches it, too!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Actually, he was not sliding. I thought that at first too. The hammy blew and he went down.

South Hamilton, MA

You have to be a real fan if you stay to the last drop. I wonder how much outside traffic conditions have to do with leaving early.

Thomaston, CT

Wow, didn't realize the hamstring went before he reached base....usually happens as runner hits the base....

New Boston, NH

Yanks aren't done yet,Jeter takes the whole AL allstar team out to the best resturant in town EVERY year his treat.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So he can slip something in their drinks!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

over paid he can afford it

Thomaston, CT

Uconn lost their starting Qback forever....failed a third drug test. Freshman going to lead the team.....

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Amazing how dumb they are.

Thomaston, CT

Yes....just like the principals & teachers who get involved with their students....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I don't usually post here as im not a big sports fan...or i should say i don't like to watch...i'd rather play. Anyways...came across this and I laughed my butt off. This is just too cute!!!

Thomaston, CT

Oh, how cute! Too bad they have to grow up, & play like devils instead!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh that's funny

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

at the Princeton hockey games after the first goal all the fans throw tennis balls out onto the court...why??? I have no idea!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

You mean 'ice'!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hee hee see I'm talking tennis balls...Yes I meant ice.

Thomaston, CT

Rangers up 3-1 now...hope they win it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looking good for them.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Thomaston, CT
