What a wonderful day for you, Pixie! I spent time today babysitting with my Hayden, Anni, & Grant...we didn't carve anything, but I'm ready for bed!

Oh, my gosh, how cute! You didn't wash that face, did you?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

No, I didn't! LOL Those are face paints and they were allowed. Of course when I first saw the 2 girls marking each others faces I started laughing not knowing they were made for that purpose. I thought two of my DD's were getting a small taste of what I got with 3 of them!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They brought up pumpkins during the offering at the church we went to today!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Nice thread Celest.
DD carved and put together the plan for decore this year. I did the face drawings she carved.
Its a HOOOOOT if I do say so myself.
PS sorry about the focus. Its cold and I'm old.

looks great JoAnn!!!!

Oh, cute carvings....I have 3 little pumpkins...trying to decide if I can carve them. Pumpkins are an odd offering, Victor, but maybe the church has plans for them. Our church passes 2 wicker baskets at offering time (just in Oct.) to replenish personal supplies for the food pantry in town.

Looks pretty JoAnn

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

DD had to do the lifting and carving. Wish I had taken pix of the garden cart full of pinkin pieces etc.
We both worked on concept and I drew the faces where she would carve.
SIL figured out how to string lights and added a timer so they go on at dusk and off at 12 AM.
Same timer for crismis.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh Ge, the house is lovely! I love the different pumpkins!!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

It was fun

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we got a ton done yesterday... but still not quite finished... I really hate putting all this stuff out for 2 weeks... we are so messed up this year with puppies, coco coir pickups, and rain / wind.... but we will trudge on and hopefully will be done in the next few days

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

You have a real extravagansa at your house. I feel the same way about crismis.
Kids are grown,DD and I do tyhe tree. We dont do an extravagent deco. of the house.Too busy.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Everytime I put up X=Mas decorations...I can't take them down until March thaw. We always seem to have a freezing rain event then tons of snow dropped ontop. I can never get the dang things out of the ice and snow.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

as I see it.. any decorations are good... Randy pokes fun at the people with 1 or 2 things outside.. I just say.. good for them.. they are still showing spirit ... it's all good in my book... makes me happy when cars pull over to look at everything ... or the neighbors stop by to check everything out.. all too fun

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

don't I know that story Celeste... last year was the worst.. freezing rain right after Christmas messed us all up... at the end of Feb I was ready to take a blow torch to get that stuff out

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

It seems the older I get, the less I do...

Looks like you had a fun PCP Celeste!

Nice display JoAnne

Hi Sue, good to see you here!

South Hamilton, MA

So that is why Christmas outside decorations stay up until Easter in New England.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yes Iris....at least for me it is!! LOL

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We had the same weather for crismis. Didnt take decorations down until March thaw.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yes... all of our wires were frozen to the ground... looked like spaghetti frozen in ice cubes .. even if I could pull the figures up... the wires just wouldn't let go... I think the little bit of heat they put out just melts the snow just enough... turn the lights off at bedtime... and solid ice here we come

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

That's why we sometimes don't get the Christmas decos up!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its a job for SIL and DD. She shanghais him for a day and we do outdoors stuff. I sweep and carry stuff but thats it.
We have a hungha hammock that needs comming down but I say nothing. DD and SIL are redoing the powder room in the basement.
They worked like trojans Sunday. Cleaned and stored screens, worked on the PR and DD carved and displayed punkins. They both worked on the lights.
Then had company for dinner.Wish I was 20 years younger.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

don't we all!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Cool!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

we just plugged our Frankenstein light up guy yesterday... and most of him is blown out

:(

going to see if I can replace him... he was one of the first decorations we bought 6 years ago... if he wasn't so faded I would string new lights in him... but Randy even said the frame is rotting out ... going to have to bury him in the coffin Celeste gave me.. LOL

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Contest again this year?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

can only enter every other year if you win.... we don't really care about that anyway... it's all for the kids
