How far along are you, Allison??
Halloween What are your plans?
sigh.... not done enough for me... but hopefully by this weekend.. just hope the wind isn't too bad on sat .. we are usually done by now.. just taking longer with life and pups... making progress everyday though.. all the new things Randy made have too much tweaking ... didn't plan on the slope being a problem when he designed the columns & fence .. sat there messing around with the saw and trying to get the pieces to fit back together when the ground wasn't level.. he even dug up the lawn to get one to sit right... and the new cables took longer to secure to the trees... yadda yadda yadda ... been one problem after another... and we still didn't piece together the "shadowbox" he made.. all the pieces are there... so I can't wait to see what problems we have with that.. just hope it goes together quick
Supposed to be very windy on Sat.
I keep hoping the weatherman is wrong again.. LOL
Wonderful! Hi Sue!!! Love the flower ^_^
nice pic's debi - good lookin girls
cute!
Looks like a fun time!
Thanks everybody. It was fun and so much better when you make most of the costume yourself
everyone looks great Debi!!!
I want to know what Bill gave the one kid that came to the house in the past 11 years.
When I lived in town we used to get upwards of 300 kids. My father worked at Nestles, and we gave out Nestle candy bars. Now we get maybe 5-10 kids, and we just have a mixed candy bowl that my husband finishes off.
Probaby a mean look.
He probably came to the door, flexed those muscles and told the kid 'no candy' in a deep voice. Kinda like a Disney movie.
i took the some of the kids candy :) almond joy and baby ruth's
My uncle used to work at Peter Pauls....the original makers of Mounds & Almond Joy....he'd always have plenty of candy for us, but never ate it himself!
My house sits back about 1000 feet off the road so the only trick or treaters I get are my grand kids. Of course I only buy candy I like so I can finish it off
I will be giving out little chocholate bars again this year (one bag is already hidden away for me ^_^) I also volunteered to decorate cupcakes for a bakesale for the united way.
That's a nice thing to do, Dnut!
A couple of co-workers organized it and I think we'll do it every year as we've already pre-sold over a 100 dozen. I have no cupcake skills so I will probably not be doing any actual decorating LOL I will probably be boxbabe or bagbabe or stringbabe.
Allison...how did your decor survive the wind today???
a few tombstones need to be fixed... blew right off the pvc pipes... need to go get some more hot glue tomorrow
Glad it wasn't worse!
yeah me too!!!
Today is the Pumpkin Carving Party at my daughter Tiffanys. There should be at least 12 kids there if not better. I must be excited as i've been up since 4AM! I have 40 cupcakes made, now I just need to frost them and make some dip for the grown-ups. There will be baked beans, cole slaw, ribs, veggie platter, chips n' dip, chilli, hot homemade beef stew and chicken noodle soup, yeast rolls, pumpkin cookies, and who knows what else!!
Each person coming brings at least one dish, their kids and a pumpkin....except my G-kids. I bring the pumpkins for them and usually a sweet of some kind for them and something for the adults......depends if I get a personal request or not.^_^
Oldest DGD asked for, on top of the cupcakes.... chocolate pumpkins please!!
Wow, I'd be excited, too! Have a great time!
DH and DS do the decorating for the yard. We hand out candy and the kids love our graveyard. Some come by every year just to see it.
Have fun, Celeste! Cute pumpkins
as every hour passes that this wind keeps up.. more and more fixing is needed
:(
nice pumpkin... looks like a fun day!!!
how fun!!!
