Eryngium P. Jade Frost help?

Sealy, TX

Does anyone have these growing and if so, what is the best care? I have 2 that are struggling and just received 2 more to plant. Any help would be appreciated. I'm in zone 8b

Can you say a little more about the conditions you have them in (sun/shade, sandy/clay soil, amt of fertilizer/water, etc). Also if you could post some pictures so we can see the symptoms that the struggling ones are exhibiting that would be helpful.

I guess that would help, huh? LOL They are planted in full sun, raised beds with garden mix for the dirt. We have VERY crummy clay soil so we do raised beds. I water them about once a week, but when we were in the midst of a drought this summer, I watered them about every other day. Sorry, no pics, but they appear wilted to a certain degree and the edges turn brown. The only fertilizer is Osmocote when I planted them and one of them did not have anything with planting. They all look pretty much the same. Oh, and they're in 2 seperate beds, with a little less sunlight in one bed than the other.

They might be getting too much sun. Variegated plants tend to burn easier than the all-green versions, and even plants that are labeled full sun sometimes need some afternoon shade in hot climates like TX. So if you've got some nice raised beds in an area that gets sun in the morning but some shade in the afternoon you might try moving them there and see if they're a bit happier (or at least plant your new ones there and see if they do better)

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. That's the only thing I figure would turn the leaves edges brown. Thank you!
