Amazing shot! They sure are beautiful. I don't know what has happened to my resident Red-Bellied Woodpeckers. I have not seen either one for a few days.

WOW! Just found this forum - don't know how I missed it. You guys have some amazing pictures and some amazing birds. Just got a new camera and started taking pictures - usually flowers but starting to have a look at the birds now too. (Flowers are almost done).

I was soooooo excited yesterday!! I had a first year male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker come to the birdbath!!! I have had female Sapsuckers before but have never even seen a male before! He came by last week too but I didn't get a photo of him. I was really hoping he would come back.

He really seemed to enjoy himself!

He was so darn cute to watch!

And then to top it off......I had this Carolina Wren come by too!!

They must heard me fussing about how they never come by. I heard on first thing this morning out in the backyard when I got up and came downstairs!

It just looked so funny to see that little bird.....

Now...whats down here???

A Downy Woodpecker....a hard one to get in a natural setting for some reason. Have the same problem with the Blue Jays....rarely get them except in the yard!

Nanny, I can see why you got so excited about the new sapsucker-it's adorable and I'm happy for you. What fun it must have been to watch it in your bath. Cute wren, cardinals too. Glad you're enjoying the waxwing too-I'm still waiting for them here.

I'm sure having fun with the American Goldfinches in my garden.

It's always fun and laughs when a few of the goldfinches go bathing.

My husband spotted this juvenile Black Phoebe hiding in a tree.

While I was watching the goldfinches, this Nuttall's Woodpecker flew down to the top of the fence.

I had some yesterday checking out the peanut feeder!

The Cedar Waxwing s are out in force right now....and they even stopped by my yard!! Luckily, I just happen to be at the window with the camera too! lol

One even came down to the bath....

Beautiful pics here. LOVE the flicker photos. Terribly jealous of the kinglet and the black-throated warblers b/c had both this morning and could not get camera to focus. Finally figured out that I had it on "mountain" setting. Yikes. Oh well.

Saw a small group of migrating Broad-winged Hawks this morning -- maybe 25-30. They are very hard to photograph but really amazing to see.
