What's Happening in your neck of the woods?

st.george, NB(Zone 5a)

Woke up to about 3 inches of snow this morning. It was all gone by noon but it was quite a shock to my system to have to clean and scrape the truck this morning.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

No snow, Marilyn? not here, either, but we sure wouldn't get a sunburn!! Maybe could wear t-shirt & jeans some days...
Chicken Stir Fry? Love it - be right over.....
I used to watch Coronation Street all the time - I love it. Doesn't seem I can watch it anymore, cuz of the lack of time....... I get busy, and forget it's on!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

OK .. here's the INSIDE scoop (a la an Environment Canada program I watched).
This neck of the woods (NWestern Ont) had an above avg October in so far as temps (do tell) .. and, as far as the meteorologist is concerned, we are about to see MORE of the same for November !!! He didn't project into December and all one can hope is that ALL the stiffled 'bad weather' from those 2 months, does NOT come roaring in off Lake Superior with a vengance !!

Coronation St .. well .. what can I say .. i 'gave it up' for a good 18 months as I was actually finding myself getting UPSET watching it !!! I would watch the 2 hour week long update on a Sunday morning, and would grumble about what was happening in any, if not ALL ,of the plots within the show. Then one of the main characters left the show (he was killed off via a car accident) .. that summoned the beginning of my hiatus from the program.
A month ago .. GLobal switched a few programs here in TBay .. Corrie started to come on right after our hour long local news. As I try to watch the news every evening, sitting for another half hour following it seemed to fit into my schedule .. so .. I am back to watching, altho, I do NOT fret if I am going to miss an episode ..

Hope the snow is history Laurie !!

Enjoy your day everyone .. take care ^_^

Drats, lost my post, must be floating out there with that mystery man..talking of mystery men, the gentleman who delivers our mail, doubt he's over 45, always calling me 'smilley' always checking if I'm here or not if he comes while I'm at lunch, lol, yesterday there was a flyer for Princess Auto, from talking he knows I love tools, anyway, was looking at the ads and there on one of them was writting, said, hello smilley, shucks, how come they do ads like that, then I realized he must have written it, so of course girls are teasing me about a younger man in my life..NOT, he's just pleasant and appreciates someone with a smile vs. gripping over lateness of the mail..

Sure do hope we don't get snow until mid Dec. "M" otherwise it makes for a long winter. Very cold outside, never mind outside, cold inside as well.

Not sure if it's the cold or the standing on my feet for 2 or 3 days cutting wood that has done my right leg in, talk about pain. I've got a box that I've got it up in hopes the pain leaves, maybe at lunch I'll go in searchof a foot stool, do they even make them anymore??

Going to Bufflo this weekend with a group of girls, I just might have to sit and people watch if I can't get around..will save my energy for the big craft show in Hamburg N.Y. as I always purchase an item that I do in my workshops in late Nov. early Dec. ohhhh maybe enough energy for Joann's as well.

Good luck Susan, thinking about you this morning..

Drats, can't feel my fingers from the cold..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

brrrrr Betty - must be really cold if your fingers are feeling like that!
"Smiley", eh? hmmmmmm y'know.... maybe he IS chatting you up?!?!

Coronation Street - Who got killed off? (should we start another thread just for Coronation Street fans?) David?????

Today I have a 3rd (this time a phone one) interview, then I have to go to the company to take proofreading & excel tests. This is for an Executive Assistant position I've applied for. Actually, I applied for an Administrative Assistant position, and they "upped" it to the other position they want to hire for - the Executive Assistant position. This is what I want, but I'd been trying for both positions, hoping to get an EA position, now it looks like I've gotten it. It's backwards, but I've been interviewed by the managers first, then the ones I would work alongside (the team), Then I get the skills test. Totally backwards!! But then.... it's an HR dept, and all 4 positions are new..... They want to cover all the bases, "cross the T's and dot the I's", follow policy and procedures, "get their ducks in a row". LOL
I'll let you know when I have definitive info.... I Really Want This Particular Job!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

All our postive energy going your way Susan!!!

He can be chatty all he wants lol I enjoy being on my own..don't have to cook if I don't want to (usually burn it anyway), come and go as I please, etc.etc. so me thinks being single is how I'll end my days!

And those "days" will be thirty or more years!! Then you can become a crotchety old lady, instead of the young, vibrant one you are now. What will you be crafting then, or when you're 110 (60 years in the future)? ^_^

I'll most likely be teaching art/crafts in a seniors home for my keep..lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Off to have my shower - interview in one hour
(geeze now I'm rhyming!!)

Victoria Harbour, ON

It's the excitement of the day Susan, sure hope they don't keep you in suspense..hoping that by days' end you'll know

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I don't expect to know by days-end - the reference check still needs to be done by the company that does it for them. May not hear until end-of-day Wednesday, or Thursday.
The sooner they tell me, the sooner I can start. Hope it's Monday, but may not be until the following week. Apparently they're moving offices very soon, and it will be 5 min drive, not 20 min drive, as it is now.

Completed light garden ( from Veseys website , not mine!) It will go in the basement but I bought this one because it is fairly decent looking just in case it ended up in the living room!

I have one that I put together myself, but the stainless steel shelving from Lowes, along with the fluorescent lights...here it is in my old basement, and I have it here with me in Ottawa
