Richmond, TX

Another successful project - well done!

Vernon, AL

Thanks,
course ill still be changing sprockets along as i find larger ones to increase the rpm's and power output. so i'll be upgrading it as i find other parts, i just build with what i have available .... gettn a monsoon flood today from the storm, gettin some good power output even tho i have all the gates shut to keep the excess pressure of the water off the wheel for time being.

POTTSBORO, TX(Zone 7b)

Save some time Dave---about time to plant that giant okra.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Did you get some more batteries to store all that extra power?

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Finally got the network back up & running - just in time - I was having "withdraw" issues.

Step daughter's dog ate the power supply for the router.

Richmond, TX

Sounds like out house!

Vernon, AL

VORTREKER,
Okra is already in the ground.
Cajun,
yes i have two battery banks now, not sure if ill combine them or leave em seperate, i can change between the two with just a flip of a switch.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

U da bomb! LOL

New Port Richey, FL

To all of the regulars on this thread: My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I know several of you are in the areas that were hit hard yesterday. I pray God's mercy and grace was and is with you, Susie

Richmond, TX

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Vernon, AL

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Did you get any damage to the water wheel, solor panel or windmill?

Vernon, AL

we were all very lucky here

Caneyville, KY(Zone 6b)

Good to hear all is well.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

So glad about that. I know how inportant the 3 of them are to your daily life.

Vernon, AL

yeah, they make my life easier an more modern its a luxary tho. i could do without it, but i sure dont want to ... hahaaa ok ok .. im gettin soft in my ole age ...

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I'm gettin' stiff in my old age. LOL

Vernon, AL

i think we all do.. most are just too proud to say or admit to it .. LOL

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I guess I am more full of truth than pride. I know I'm fulla somthin'. LOL

Vernon, AL

spent all day yesterday building a form and pour'n cement to seal in the raceway to the waterwheel. got the base pour'd an its drying now. now just waiting till monday where i can remove the form.... next ill just have to do the cosmetic part and sealing any tiny leaks and such .. then for the final leveling of the dam. another step closer to being finished. Yay

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Good job!

Paris, TN(Zone 6b)

Your thread always amazes me freedom, and inspires me for 'someday'. So glad to hear you and yours were spared by the massive destruction.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Did you finish your cement work? What kind of weather are you having down there?

Vernon, AL

Thanks Hineni.
Cajun ...
got most of it finished, only some places to finish when the water goes down this summer to finish sealing up the raceway. so far so good everything is workin out as planned ... right now its kinda cool but the temps are suspose to start back on the rise tomorrow an be back to normal again.. woooo hooooooooooooooo hahaaa

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

Cold here too and I will be glad to see warmer temps at the end of the week. I don't accomplish much in the damp cold.

Good to hear your work is nearly done on the dam and it's working well. I am sure you have another project in mind already!

Vernon, AL

you got that right .... always more irons in the fire than i know what to do with ... you know what they say about idle hands .....

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

And it's the truth! LOL

Vernon, AL

well another week of fun and workin on projects, hmmmm what will it be this week .. guess yawl will just have to wait n see .. LOL

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I'm sure it will be something amazing and we will all wish we had one. LOL You getting much rain? A few trees have uprooted on our hill from it being so wet. A big red oak fell behind my detatched garage but just the top hit the garage. Didn't do any damage but it took out a few of my gold raspberries. Grrr Can't get under it to see how many.

Vernon, AL

Ouch, maybe it dint hurt em much, an hope you can get it off everything ok without too much damage to your garage also.

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I'm hoping a friens will come cut it up for firewood. Should burn good after seasoning til winter. Wish I had a chain saw. I'd cut it up myself.

Vernon, AL

yeah, make some good fires, even if you did it outside an not in a heater. have a wennie an marshmellow roast or even cook over it

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

That's what I was thinking. Be nice to sit around a fire in the fall.

Vernon, AL

yeah, its nice to set around a fire .. actualy for me anytime of the year not just in cool weather. something about a fire just speaks to your soul.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Amen

Biggs, KY(Zone 6a)

I totally agree. We used to always have fires back home. Family gathered nearly every night. No family here.

Rocky Mount, VA(Zone 7a)

Bonfires on the beach - many beaches - on many bodies of water - the Atlantic - the Pacific - rivers and lakes too many to recall the names, driftwood turning the night into light. When we were younger we could sleep on the rocks, actually we could sleep anywheres.
