Looks great!
2010 Graden Photos #32
For those of you with callicarpa, I rooted one this summer, and am trying layering one too. Love the color of the purple berries.
Good for you, Deb!
Love all your shots Bill. Is that hibiscus Luna Red? Mine has three or four buds that will open if the weather doesn't get too frosty first. Asters and viburnum look good too.
Those MGs do seem to be happier with the cooler temps which is our good fortune.
pat it might be lord baltimore although i am just guessing - that pic is one where the only thing nice is the bloom - lace worms have eaten the whole bush.
That's too bad Bill. At least the bloom is nice so something to be thankful for on his damp chilly miserable day, although no rain today so far, some very early this morning I think. You would think that all that hot dry weather this summer a lot of those little eating machines would have shriveled up and died. The bugs and the weeds seem to go on and on and on no matter what.
Nice shots Bill & Ge, can't believe you have clems blooming!!!
Bill only one guess and no one took one huh? I'll go first...my guess is 'Erie" if I had a second it woudl og been W.wood.
My crystal fountain clems are blooming now too, was just out a bit ago but it's too cold
sorry celeste - wrong on both :)
i have another couple clems ready to open too - only a bud here or there though.
Bill....I will guess Viburnum 'Chenaultil'
sorry Marilyn
it is cardinal candy
Oh, great name! I'd buy it just for the name, but love the berries!
pretty :)
Oh nice to know the viburnum name. I have a baby one but it did not bloom this year so no berries. Maybe next year it will have some. Yours is really nice, something to look forward to next year.
i have two in the same bed - you do need another in the same family so the bees do there thing.
Like with holly?
yup
OH my god yes exactly like the holly and the kiwis also!!!.........lol
(Kiwi are a bit "alien" to the NE, but a lot of us dream of indoor gardens that replicate zone 10 !!!)
Arctic kiwi grows here, if you can get the fruit before the birds
I had 1 piece 1 year, looks like a grape, tastes kinda like a pineapple. Not sure if my females survived, maybe because too many males? I need to look for more.
Wow, I never even heard of it !!!
Learning something new every day...
(Thank you for the info, I usually go to Wikipedia.org for additional details.)
it is very pretty
Very nice Deb.
yes dont we all they can grow in zone 8a also I grew them when I lived there.
Thank you for the photos, I love learning about new (to me) botanical matters.
Thank you for posting the photos!
i have 4 kiwi plants - not fruit yet - and the same artic kiwi although debi's looks better
