OMG, Debra! Looks like a Heavenly Blue take-over on that fence! Gorgeous photo! My HB never got quite that lush, but it bloomed up a storm almost every day for about 4 months. All my vines have about disappeared outside. Except the I. purpureas. The I. indica is hanging in there, too. A few blooms everyday, but the vines is mostly dying back now. Also the Yellow Chinese Evening Glory. Fall appears to have arrived here on the east coast. It is a lot cooler at night now. Thank goodness! It was a long hot summer!

Becky, The pink bloom, Pink Shadows, sounds lovely.
Beautiful Heavenly Blue Debra, thanks for sharing the pic with us
Cooler here at night too Becky. The days even warmed back up to the 90's
but not for long. Just long enough to break another record, 118 days over 90 this summer. Back to the 70's in a few days
I have a few small MG's sprouting leaves, can they be dug outta the ground and potted while they are still small like this?? or am I just outta luck? If I can get them into a nice pot with a small trellis and bring inside ((or would I have too down here??))
Dirty girll. I just potted up some small mg seedlings. Came up from dropped sds. I started mine in 3 inch pots so I dont overwater. I would rather Becky answer your question since she's also in Fl. This late in the season, I know it will finally get too cold for mg's in the ground even there in Fl.
Nice Rose or Choc silk Helena.
Helena - Beautiful Rose Silk/Yuuzuki!!! Always comes true from seed! Amazing!!!
Tiffanie - You could go ahead and dig em and pot em up. If we get a freeze, it will kill them. Do you know it they are I. nils or I. purpureas or something else? I ask because the I. nils do best during summer heat, whereas the I. purpureas will tolerate cooler temps. If you can find a sunny, protected spot to sit them in, that would work best! And you can certainly bring them inside and place them in a sunny window. Just make sure they don't dry out in the window. I've had vines bloom and have actually gotten seeds from vines grown in my window over winter. I'd say go for it! You've got nothing really to lose except these vines and you might just have blooms this winter indoors! :-)
it's the ivy leaved...the ones I grew from seed...I also have 2 dwarf sunsmie (hanging basket variety) that are now about 4 inches tall...was gonna put them in hanging baskets and put in the window of my garage ((or my new game room above the bar))..haven't decided.
Pretty blooms Helena. Is that turbinata in the center? Mine bloomed, made
sd pods, then croaked
Nice blooms! I love that blue. I also love the turbinata, I have two downstairs, one still outside. The lobatas and pink i purps, moonflowers and the purple tievines are all still blooming. we will see how that goes after tonite, it gets down to 40 they say.I need to get over to my sons and get those caudex plants up.
Tiffanie - Sounds like a great plan to grow those vines inside for the winter! Good luck! :-)
Helena - Nice! Very nice!!! Love seeing such pretty blooms this late in the season! You've had a long season this year! I've enjoyed all your bloom photos so much! Thanks for sharing them with everyone! You rock and roll with all those great cultivars you grew this year!
Jackie - LOL! Bloomed and croaked. Sounds like some of mine! ROTFLMBO!
Here is one from this morning. Or rather yesterday morning since it is after 1 am in the morning here. Going to bed now ...
This is one from the Blue Speckles F1 seeds. It has beautiful variegated leaves and these light blue speckles! I just love the variations of vines I got from the Mother Blue Speckles vine seeds!
That is beautiful, Becky. see ya all tomorrow, off to bed.
Love both sets of blooms Becky, Your Blue Speckles was just incredible this
season, loved all the blooms it made. A special MG for sure.
Thanks Jackie, Debra and Becky. That's not turbinata but transvaalensis with orange seeds.
I agree with Debra and Jackie, your blue speckled blooms have been amazing this season Becky!!
Helena, I am glad you told me that. I planted some of those and thought they were the lavender moon vine, and wondered why the spines weren't on the stem. Thanks! I think I will bring mine in.
You're welcome Debra. I didn't grow turbinata and the flowers on tranvaalensis are rather small but it's worth growing just for the pretty leaves. I didn't think it was going to bloom for me but it did and also produced a few neat orange seeds!
Thanks Debra. Nice blooms you're getting. Wish I had a basement
I would love not having to go outside in the bad weather to water
Edited to say I green house grow but a long trek in the winter when there's snow or ice on the ground.

Thanks Debra, Jackie, and Helena! I am rather enthralled with that odd blue speckles gene. Crazy blooms and leaves on some of them! I need to take a photo of all four vines again if they would all just cooperate and bloom at the same time! LOL :-P~~~
