WARNING! DANGER! Do NOT wear flannel pjs if you have flannel sheets. You will get stuck cuz there is a funky weird velcro thing that happens during the night. It happened to me a couple of years ago. I woke up to pee and I couldn't move. I had to worm wiggle to get out and almost wet the bed. (also this will lead to an intense attack of the giggles which will wake up your true luv for sure).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I remember you posted that once before. Might be a bit 'ouchy' if you sleep nude.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lots of static!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O good that I posted it before. Now you can't say I didn't warn you :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Could strategically place a Bounce .

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Might create that much-needed spark for a couple.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Bounce is bad for your fabrics. Besides I got in enough trouble for worm wiggling; I hate to think what would happen if I bounced.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I wasn't suggesting it for the fabrics.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

snort

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

why is bounce bad for fabrics?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

This is what I was told by a designer friend: The chemicals in dryer sheets and liquid fabric softeners weaken the fibres so your clothes wear out faster AND BIGGIE they are toxic which is bad for the water as well as peoples. What's scarey is that some of the chemicals can be absorbed through your skin so you don't even have to snuffle them to get dosed. I am content to just let the dryer gremlins steal a few socks and let my clothes smell like clothes. Besides If you want smelly things you can always put herbs in your drawers and closets ^_^

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I like chemicals.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

would need more definitive proof to stop my wife from using them - i use one for ever couple loads - she uses a new one each time

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We use 'environmentally friendly' ones, whatever that means.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It's sorta like air freshning methinks. Some peoples freshn; some peoples don't. To each their smellys ^_^

Dryer sheets are too strongly scented for me.....I use detergent without dyes or perfume....do not use cosmetics...and still the hornets sting me!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Owie RD :( Me and my hornets have learned to cohabit. I recog to find the nesting sites early spring and then make a deal: If you don't sting me I will not destroy the ash worms which you luv. So far so good. Are you going too close to the nests RD or is a personal thing? Leaf hoppers hate me so I know that sometimes it's a personal thing.

Thomaston, CT

This clever so & so was on the inside of the car's door handle...went to open the door & he got me.....

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O trapped EEK! I have run about in the the house with a hornet chasing me. All discussion is off when they're trapped. EEK!

Thomaston, CT

Keep the hornet spray handy!

I use softner in my pants, shirts, socks and the lifty me ups.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yikes, Marilyn! Those hornets and YJs are serious business when you get stung! I hope you are feeling better today!

Dahlianut - I'm laughing out loud for sure about your "velcro" problem in bed. That is such a funny image! And as always, you have such a way with words! Thanks for that warning! LOL

Thomaston, CT

It was very strange...I was stung Thurs. ...took a Benedryl, & put Benedryl cream on the bite...hurt a little Thurs. Friday, didn't bother me...swelling was down....was awakened at 6:30 this morning, finger was swollen, red, & throbbing...went the whole Benedryl route once again, along with ice...still swollen, but not as much.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Oh Robin, hope it's ok!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

OUCH!!! For some reason I used to always get stung, wasps and yellow jackets used to hate me.

Dryer sheets also clog up the filter in your dryer, it coats the screen so that water won't even penetrate it causing your dryer to take longer to dry the clothes and creating a fire hazard.

Take the dryer lint collector and try to run water thru it...you'll see if you use dryer sheets water will not penetrate the screen

Thomaston, CT

Thanks....finger is only slightly swollen today.....was sitting on the patio with the dogs when a wasp landed on my arm...managed to swat it without getting stung....don't know what the attraction is!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sweetness, Marilyn, sweetness! Take good care of that......a delayed reaction can be very dangerous. Keep the benadryl coming. Hank had multiple stings in our woods once, and our friend down the hill from us who is a retired doctor said it was the benadryl he was taking for poison ivy that saved his life. He barely made it to the house before collapsing. Now he keeps an epi-pen around - on the golf course as well. I felt pretty bad, because I had sent him into the woods to find me some beech bark to make a poultice for his poison ivy itch. He found the bark, pulled it off and a swarm of yellow jackets came at him from behind the bark. So much for home remedies!!! I just happened to be on the phone with our friend from down the hill at the time. Scary stuff!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

wow - those yellow jackets hurt!

stepped on a nest of them in a bush while mowing the yard earlier this year and got about 7 or 8 bites on my lower leg - had only the normal bite marks and just continued mowing - i am now pretty careful around that bush when mowing! although i knock it with the mower just to get them going a bit and hold the mower up to get any aggressive ones:)
