best palm trees for seattle wa. area
According to the cold hardiness map here http://www.usna.usda.gov/Hardzone/hzm-nw1.html it looks like you are in zone 8 (which fyi, it would be helpful if you could add that to your profile so that it comes up under your screen name). You should be able to grow the same palms we do in Raleigh, NC. These include Windmill (Trachycarpus fortunei), Hardy Needle Palm (Rhapidophyllum histrix), European Fan Palm (Chamaerops humilis), Mexican Fan Palm (Washingtonia robusta) and Pindo Palm (Butia capitata). Monrovia Nursery sells most of these so they should be available in your area. http://www.monrovia.com/plant-catalog/search.php?start_page=1&query=palm
thanks plantfreak78, and for the fyi.
