Building and Arbor and want a hearty vine to plant. Looking for a fast grower, green year around with some color. Considered bougainvillea but I saw a lot of them die after this past winter. Any suggestions?
Vine Suggestion for Zone 10
You should check out snail vine, aka corkscrew vine. They love heat and humidity, are green year round, and have lovely lavender flowers (no scent). They can be invasive if not kept in check, but you can prune the heck out of them and it won't phase them one bit, they grow like wildfire. The first year I planted mine it made it all the way to the second story deck of my house. It's now twining along the railing up there, it's at least 40 feet at its longest point.

you might try confederate jasmine. they're really hardy for both heat and cold here, and pretty easy to keep in check. smells good when it blooms.
