central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Bratwurst on the grill

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Room temp leftover pizza is way better than sticking it in the fridge.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Had a boiled dinner yesterday of ham, strings beans, and taters . One of my favorites!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I love ham... doesn't matter if it's boiled or in the oven either... I get so excited for easter and that big ole ham

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

If it's baked it has to have mashed taters w/it! LOL

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh yes!!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I have to have Wegman's brown sugar cured ham, the best! I take them to my family's Christmas party every year, with an extra one for my sister. I like either yams or butternut squash with it, and mix either with mashed potatoes.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

this is the one I do for easter... it rocks

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

sounds interesting

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the ginger snaps totally make it great.... last year we had a 9 pound ham.. plus all the polish food... not even enough leftovers for a sandwich... it is always a winner with my family

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

do they get crunchy? does it taste like a cookie?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the first year I made the mistake and tented to rest it... it got soggy.. learned after that to keep it open... and yes it did get crusty but not super hard ... the bite of the mustard, the sweet of the sugar & cookies was a great balance... and I love bourbon on any meat ... even though I can't stand to drink it

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

maybe I'll try it with a small ham

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I hope you love it as much as we do

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

marilyn my job is too eat them - i will have to ask the better half

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Onewish
what brand brown mustard do you use? Is plain Gluden's (is it Gludens???) brown ok or should I go for a specialty store brown?

The ham - the recipe says the hams in bag in the refridg section can need to be cooked, partially cooked or heated --- so which did you get - a bunch of hours seems alot for a partially cooked ham.

Did you just stick your finger over the opening to the bourbon and shake - is that spritz?

Is it the mustard that holds those cookie crumbs on? Did you use it liberally?

Thanks. I think I am going to try this at Thanksgiving.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah either guldens or whatever was on sale.. but I would use a brand you like best... and put just a thin layer.. and yes that holds the crumbs in place... if you put it too thick it will melt and run all the coating down off of it...I always look for the ham in natural juices... I couldn't find any of the ones he had listed.. mine was not partially cooked.. I don't think... I use a meat thermometer ... one of those wireless ones you keep in the meat while it's cooking... so I never worry... for the spritz I used a spray bottle

We have ham on Easter.....it is stuffed with a mixture of spinach, scallions, & parsley, & glazed with honey & red wine......very yummy. Thanks Bill.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

OK great

Bill - your ham sounds great too.

Want to hear something that sounds 'Oh no.....yuk' ?

my bro puts a can of fruit cocktail in his stuffing.
it is the best darn stuff (I didn't believe it until I ran into a piece of fruit)

typical italian recipe - cheese, eggs, bread, mushrooms, etc. etc. folks come from miles around to sit at his table. He uses the same stuffing for mushrooms.

It doesn't sound too good...guess it's like tomato soup in cake....Youth Group is serving Women's Fellowship tonight, so I have no idea what I'll be eating.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Maybe it will be mac and cheese and green bean casserole

Bluefish & fries for me, (good thing I like fish, catching big ones now off the surf, going to start releasing them if I catch too many, don't like to waste...)

Pork chops & rice w/ red beans in a tomato sauce & salad for DW.

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

My hubby loves bluefish. It's been years. I have never seen it here. He liked it with olive oil rub and garlic.

Just found out my stepdaughter has gallbladder problems...has to go through one more test before doctor decides what to do. She's coming for dinner Sat. night, so I Googled the good & the bad. If anyone has a suggestion, let me know, but I thought baked chicken breast with chopped avocado & fresh tomatoes, green beans with fresh ginger, and sweet potato, plain.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What kind of gallbladder problems? stones? I can not recommned enough the overnight gall gladder flush to clear your gall bladder, with periodic flushing you will maintain a healthy liver and gall bladder. I've done it, doesn't hurt a bit and saves you from having surgery(my friend just had surgery didn't listen to me and another lady we know and is having the worst recovery)

Thomaston, CT

Don't know yet....she was undergoing last test today. Having chicken stir-fry tonight.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ribeye steak, loaded baked potato, corn on the cob, fresh steamed asparagus, and butterscotch pudding for dessert.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

yum

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
