Back in the Spring,we cut down 5 trees in our backyard. Now we have,what I am guessing are saplings coming up all over! I attached a pic. Can you tell me what these are? How do I get rid of these? They are pretty tough to pull out,and there is a bunch! Thanks for the help. John

Sounds like you cut down a tree type that likes to colonize. As long as there are pieces of root left, they will keep sending up new trees. I agree with missingrosie--treat them with Brush B Gone. It should kill the roots as well as the tree.
OK, JMY, I'm guessing these are indeed the children of the parents you murdered, I mean removed. Perhaps some of the more entrenched neighbors might recall what they were? What are your future plans for the space? That might affect what you do to clear away the encroachers.....
