Wow rita really love that fern!!
mjsponies, that is a very nice Meowus Varigata.
pensacolagarden, thanks, I thought that it looked quite pretty waiting for its turn to get planted.
I am sorry for all the edits, I still get very nervous when starting a new thread, and mess up.
Joeswife, Love the Croton, they are my next favorite tropical plant.
Rachel, we have a new leaf on the batwing you sent me!!
Rachel, I forgot to post the photo of the leaves on my hamabo but they are very different than those you show.
I have replaced the St.Augustine grass with gravel in the back section of the front yard, cutting my mowing duties in half.
I have flagstones that make a nice border in the front but couldn't get them in the picture. I also am waiting for a new shipment of some rainbow gravel to come in. It is much prettier than the first layer of gravel shown.
Prita-What USDA zone are you in?
I will answer for Rita as we are only about 10 miles or less apart, as the bird flies. 8A. However, there is no comparison whatever. She has hoop house and I think she is on a well for water, not sure about that. She also amends her soil like no one I have ever seen. We live just south of Dallas, Texas on the Grand Prairie. Black gumbo clay. She is magic is all I can say.
rita, I don't know what that plant is in the two front pots but I was given a start early this season. It has grown like mad and puts out shoots to start new plants much like an airplane plant. I have gambled and planted it in the ground just yesterday after letting it grow in a pot all summer. Hope it comes back.
whoever left you the gifts knows you will take extra good care of them.
Debra,
That is a beautiful plant.
One of my brugs is going to flower soon and so is one of my plummies. I will take pictures as soon as they bloom.
uhm.. I want mine to get that big! lol
Great pictures everyone.
Tropic, thank you and I agree after viewing your picture my plant is definitely a Abelmoschus. Ardesia, if you want some seeds just d-mail me your address and I will gladly send you some.
Rita, you have that batwing looking great and the leaves on your Thai Giant are huge and very healthy regardless of it's heighth this year.
Cute little new Aroid. Stylochaeton bogneri.
Tina_A, It will be a treat to see your new blooms!! What are you favorite tropical plants?
ardesia, thanks, maybe next year I will have a bigger and better Colocasias.
The name Tony Avant looked very familiar to me, so I googled it. I am quite familiar with his mail order business. I bought my first two colocasia from him.
C Lime Aide
Thanks, Rita. Looks like I will be repotting it tomorrow. Glad I asked.
I have been waiting all year to see this bloom.. it was so heavy as a bud I didn't think it would ever open.. I kept holding it up for a few minutes crooning to it and here she is tonight..
Cajun Hibiscus Pink Sensation She performed well last year, and even bloomed in the basement garden.. I love her alot.
All my hibiscus have been blooming like crazy..
Rita, please don't buy that salvia, I am sending it to you.. It will be cut down, but the root ball will spring forth another batch of varigated leaves for you..
Mj and GA girl, you are getting some of the Salvias too, since you volunteered.. got my seeds, can't wait to start some..
this Cassia Alata is blooming now.. or candle bush or whatever it is called
I planted three kinds of lobata, and can't tell the difference from any of them.. learned a lesson there..
I brought in the varigated EE? or is it a philo or ? ( can't remember now)
Somehow I have a Goji berry plant in one of the jmg hanging planters.. I have no clue how it got there, but I am keeping it. PF says zone 6, but I don't trust that. I have never seen a Goji Berry in Kansas.
Thank you Debra, that would be great. I have a weeping blue ginger. I will have to send you a small one in the spring. I keep mine in the GH so it should bloom for you next summer.
