I'm growing four o'clocks (Mirabilis jalapa) from seed for the first time this year. They've had buds for weeks, but they never seem to open (I've checked at various times in the afternoon and evening) even when other four o'clocks in the neighbourhood are in full bloom. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks!
Four o'clock flowers never open
Are they in full sun? Mine bloom really late and really early(before I'm normally up) I saw them opened only twice.
I grew from a plant but they come back every year. Here in TX they don't like a lot of sun. I have most growing underneath 2 trees although they get afternoon sun. They open later in the evening and smell wonderful! They do re-seed (places where I know I didn't plant them!)
