Swamp Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) is not drought resistant, the reason the word "swamp" is used in its common name. It has fiberous roots that needs regular moisture.

In contrast, Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) is drought resistant and develop a carrot like root that grows large and deep

Both plants likes sun to prevent legginess.

Your monthly do list is fine for the south but not for northern gardeners.

Blomma - totally agree this reads like the south. Also whenever dealing with natives you need to include a list of invasives.

actually swamp milkweed, despite a love for water, can endure drought and has a tolerance :

But yes!! totally forgot to include a page on invasives! I can upload the listing I have in my book for the website, that should suffice for a while until I get a more inclusive listing.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments, they are very helpful as I embark on this new blogging experience. I'm used to more ghostwriting work than stuff in a blog setting:)

Appreciate everyone!
