Lovely photos, all !!!
Garden Photos #31
Thanks....unlike Victor, you can see what part of him the bee is showing me......
such great photos!!!... and love the teddy bear Celeste
Thanks All!
Robing that Hibiscus is stunning!! I'm waiting on my pink Anenome to bloom too.
I have major floppage with the recent rains :( I find paperwhites easy to force indoors. I like their smell but many think it's terrible. A luv it/hate it thing methinks. RD that looks like Simply Love hibiscus which I grow every year. Lucky you that it self sows in in your garden.
noticed today one of the sunflowers that were not eaten by the tree rats or there cousin the chipsters is a ted bear.
Thanks Dnut for the ID......
just wait until that pops open Jen.. heavenly!!!
My new mums have not yet opened....old ones have been blooming for a couple of months. Love the pink snaps! I've never tried tuberose, Jen...hope it opens.....
Just throwing this out there.
Has anyone had particular luck with a cacti and succulent nursery.
Could you recomend one?
No.....there used to be one quite near me, but it closed several years ago....looking for something special?
I like your pink snaps JoAnn... don't have that one yet
Aren't Snapdragons wonderful? I have a very deep red blooming it's head of...trouble is I can not capture the true color!
the lighting has to be just right for reds and blues
does anyone grow helenium? how do they do - i am thinking about replacing the fancy rudbeckia with these - do they flop?
thx
Were you able to find any DG'ers pix of the whole plant on Plant Files?
Thats where I go to see how a plant behaves.
Robin love that hibiscus, very pretty and nice to have a name now too.
Jen those are some lovely fall blooms. The asters here have not bloomed yet. First the bambi or ground hog gave them a trim, then the drought, so they are very late. They do have buds now but not a bloom in sight. Mine are 'Purple Dome'.
JoAnn I like those snapdragons. I do not have any here yet but from the review you give them ,perhaps I should invest in a few if I can find a good spot.
Bill my heleniums are new this year,'Mardi Gras', and have bloomed most of the summer. They are about 30-36 inches tall and did stand tall for the most part until the four day rain event. I have heard that they do have a tendency to open up without support, but the blooms and colors are worth the tying up and staking imo.
'Mardi Gras' is the one i've been thinking about adding to the back forty. I want to put yarrow, lupines, heleniums, and daisy's through-out the field and let them go.
WOW Pixie that sounds fantastic.
Yes...I can really picture that looking beautiful! Bill, I grew Mardi Gras for the 1st time this year....it only got to be about 2 ft tall, but no flopping at all.....just keeps on blooming.....
thx - mardi gras was the one i was looking at as it is closest to the color of the rudbeckia's - might add it to my first ever fairweather gardens order.
I ordered from Fairweather last year, & was very satisfied!
I saw it (Mardi G.) at our local Lowes for $6.97...might have to go see if it's still there. :)
hum........ more expensive at FW
The petunia's and marigold are a great color combo. I need to try caryopteris again....you've convinced me!
My Sweet Autumn Clem is blooming too and I love the smell!
