Good bye, dear lilies, you were wonderful this year.
(I'm thinking of trying paper whites indoors this winter, are they finnicky?)
Are you talking about narcissus? They are easy and smell great.
Yes, My mother always called them "paper whites"; I remember the most wonderful fragrance at winter. I should have paid more attention as a kid.
I used to start mine in January.
The fragrance bothers me...my art teacher had some in the studio, & several of us complained...others liked the scent. I made the rounds of the gardens today....have to have the fair flowers in by Thurs......none of my roses have buds except Tequila, & I don't think it will open in time....my phlox looks ratty.....zinnias are ok....hoping some nicer dahlias open.
The pressure is on Marilyn.
I didn't get a chance today but will tomorrow...I have a couple blooms on my October Skies Aster and Sweet Autumn Clem
I have a few that I managed last week before the wedding...i'll post tomorrow.
All great shots Pixie
Thanks Ge!
Your gardens must be really great now. I think of you as due east but forget how much further south you are.
very nice celeste - change of ru location may be needed:)
Love those sunflowers! They would be gone early around here I'm afraid. Also pretty roses. No DLs rebloomed here this year, too dry I think. Getting some fresh foliage now but that is it.
