Spath flower tips black

My new Peace Lily has black tips on some of the flowers. What might cause this and how can I prevent it from happening again?

That is typical with "older" inflorescence on a Peace Lily. It is just simply fading away.

just be happy that you can get yours to bloom. I bought mine about 2 months ago full of blooms and after that not 1 flower has come out.
