My neighbor is complaining about my clumping bamboo which I planted to screen his house from my backyard in Southern California (you know how close houses are). He claims that the shoots are invasive and are coming up on his side of the fence and the height (even after semi-yearly trimming) is blocking his sunlight. I would like to find out what other plant I can use that would achieve a height of no more than 10-11 feet, isn't invasive and doesn't drop leaves like the bamboo does, yet still gives a tropical look to our backyard.
