I bought this plant online. It's not looking very attractive. I would love to give it some shape but I don't know how much pruning it will tolerate. Any ideas?
Dwarf New Zealand Christmas Tree
You might wish to wait until the plant has some energy reserves (May) before you do any serious pruning. The plant needs its foliage to make the food that will help it get through the winter. You CAN pinch or tip-prune now though, which will force back-budding & make for a fuller plant. It will also provide more pruning options when you DO decide to prune next spring. To 'pinch' remove the last two leaves to have emerged from all branches with 3 or more pairs of leaves.

Will do. Thank you.
