I had a beautiful butterfly bush and then the leaves started turning yellow and then brown and falling off. Eventually all fell off and here is the result. I trimmed it back, but there is another butterfly bush behind it and the same thing is happening. Help me save my BF bush please. I don't know what the problem is so that I can save them. Thank you!
Unfortunately your picture and your description will not get us very far. A close-up of the affected foliage on the bush that's still alive would help. Also, information like how long it's been in the ground and if any of its growing conditions have changed would be helpful.
On a side note, usually this forum is for plant identification and this kind of question should be asked on a different forum such as the beginner gardening forum. Just fyi :)

I agree that some more info & pictures are needed to help figure out what's going on--hard to say from this picture.
Difficult to say....would have loved to see when it first started having the problems. Do a scratch test of the wood and see if it's still green under the bark, that will tell you if it's completely dead.
I had a barberry that up and died on me... very similar situation...neighbor's dog was peeing on it.
