I am trying to germinate seeds of A. elegans. The instruction says: "Soak in hot (not boiling) water for 48 h".
What exactly "hot water" means? Can anyone advise me on the temperature? I am afraid to cook the seeds.
Thanks in advance!
Aristolochia seeds and hot water?
Personally, I never put seeds in hotter water than I can stand to put my hand into. (and, obviously, it won't stay hot for 48 hrs- probably the length of time soaking is more important than exactly how hot you start out, but you are right, you do not want to cook them!)
Hi Avianut,
Thank you for reply.
I guess, you aren't inspired by Mucius Scaevola's glory ...

Ha! Not really... my fingers live to plant another day...
